sounds right, sounds like the other reviews, solo play isn't that great unless your on drums.. multiplayer is the best thing since pizza :D

Good review
"This is a much more social experience than Guitar Hero; you won't see what all the fuss is about unless you have a group of people together and crank up the sound."

Good review. I love the "Ugly" comment because it's true, you always have a friend who thinks they can't sing but they can and the ones that think they can but they really can't.

Why am I up all night refreshing this board?
That's a pretty good review, as most Ars reviews are. It covered all the bases from hardware to the game itself. The most common gripes/comments are to play this game with others, and you may not like the guitar parts coming from Guitar Hero. I wish they would have put a final score on the game but from what they're saying it sounds like a 8 or 9 game to them. I hope that I don't fall in the ugly comment at the end, as I *THINK* I can sing... just hope I actually can. :)
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME!
Now I just need some friends to play with. :(

Well written review - its nice to know they actually played it thoroughly before just writing down a few quick notes.
I noticed a tense error though "So now we were.." but thats just nitpicking - and the fact that I have to look for gramatical faults it a good sign really.
I'm not sure you can really hold "needs alot of space to set up" against a game like this -- I mean, its not a surprise to anybody who carries home a 20lb box that its going to need to occupy some space.
I thought it was notable that they didn't mention the DLC or meta-merchandise plans, which seem to really be a part of the product's design, not just add-ons.
I know some reviewers only review what came in the box, and specifically ignore proposed patches or add-ons, and generally I'm happy with that. However, looking at the specific plans and integration the HMX people have put into the DLC, I think it would be fair to mention it in a review.
But again, this is a much better review -- I feel comfortable taking this writer's opinion because it is clear he played the game. I'm also happy they liked it and didn't find any deal-breaking faults.

See this is what I thought about the Stratocaster from my demo play through at my local Best Buy. I hope that these hardware issues are plaguing only the minority; and even then that they can be fixed via a patch.

That has to be one of the best reviews I've read in a while...for any game. Of course, it's a favorable review...so that helps. :)

I liked this review a lot.

This is too true, I wonder which one I am :D

I was under the impression that even playing solo career mode you created a band and a character and, just like in GH, you could earn money and buy clothing, etc. for that character.
This review, however, didn't mention band or character creation until they were discussing BWT.
Solo careers still let you have a band and customized character, right? It's just you can't do all the getting fans / upgrading tour vehicles / etc. right?
