I think you are mistaken. The Wii guitar is white. The PS3/360 are black.

Pretty sure only the Wii Les Paul was white. Granted, the faceplates are removable so I really wouldn't read into a picture so much.

And if it's the Ars review you're talking about, they were on the 360.
