RB2 Band Issue

I finally got a band set up and my friend and I are mainly the ones who play (on xbox live, we play from our own houses) My question is, is everytime I log off from RB he can't play anything gig, or anything for the band. It comes up and says that the "Leader" needs to be present to play. Is that the way it has to be. My understanding was that there was no leader and that all players would be bound to the band and could play with or without one another.

Any suggestions would help.

Bands are linked to Gamertags instead of a specific character. That gamertag still needs to be logged in to play the band. Hope that helps.

That seems a little stupid really. But I understand. It would be really nice to be able to play for the band and not have to have the leader logged into live. Wonder if they will ever do an update to fix that so that we can play for the band even when the leader isn't present.
