Maybe someone can answer this. This applies to Guitar Hero or any game for that matter. If you purchase DLC and put it on a HD or a memory card can you take that content back home to your home xbox and still be able to access it? I don't have xbox live access at home but if I can just go to a friends house to buy the songs, well that makes life easier.

as long as your signed into your live account when you purchase it its all good I believe. Take your 360 over there and just download it. Or just your harddrive I think

SHAWN carefull, ive got the answer to your question. Ok, when you purchase downloadable content, it is saved to your
1. Xbox Live Gamertag
2. Hard Drive or Memory Card
3. The Serial Number of the Console it was downloaded too.
this is to prevent people from copying them. Say you have xbox A and xbox B, if hard drive A is on xbox B when the song is downloaded, Hard Drive A can ONLY access that song while connected to xbox B, because that was the console it was originally downloaded too and therefor it saves its serial number. However, if you wanted to download it again while on YOUR console so u could play it at home, you wont be charged twice, because it also remembers on your gamertag that you have payed for this. My solution ? Never EVER download priced content on someone elses console. Take your entire console over there to download.
