rockband.com blocked by Fortinet FortiGuard at work! *gasp!*.. but guess what's not..

So I came into work, got my emails started, decided to eat my breakfast and catch up a bit on the forums since I hadn't all weekend (the wife came back from a two-week trip to Idaho on Friday), and I go to see if there's anything new... There sure is! DLC pricing, strum bar concerns, and rockband.com being blocked at work under the "Games" category. Erm... wtf? Looks like over the weekend, Rock Band has garnered enough attention to get Fortinet to change their listing to include the top-level domain (luckily the community subdomain is not blocked yet)... But guess what...

guitarhero.com? not blocked. not at all. weak? seriously. indicator of popularity (ex: Myspace blocked, Facebook and Fubar and others not blocked)? Definitely.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the MTV association... MTV's blogs are blocked a lot, so, who knows... Anyways... I'm going to have to talk to our IT guy and see about getting it exempted...

Anyone else noticing this problem as well?

my work uses SurfControl and rockband is unblocked so far.

I work at RadioShack Same thing happened this weekend, they use websense. Last week I could access rockband.com than Saturday it was blocked.

Since they redid the front page to maximize the browser, use flashy lights and crank music, I don't go to the main page anymore anyway. It seems purposely designed to get your butt fired. Don't they know that bored people @ work are the lifeblood of online forums? :p

haha during computer classes i sneak onto the rock band froums and talk a little. then after a while surfcontrol kicks in. i usually can get it the first couple of times then after that it is BLOCKED.

I agree that the front page = hey, this guy isn't working alarm!

I don't know what the company I work for uses, but considering I am half of the IT department I think I am safe from having any of my sites blocked.
