I love Rock Band 2. I want to play it. I have RB1 drums living on their last legs... and I ordered ION drums. Now, let me explain and maybe I am wrong. Someone tell me if I am crazy and there is no reason to be like this.
9/9/08 - I preorder the drums, knowing the first shipment, according to the website FAQs, was sent out on 9/8/08 (I don't know if this was true or not)
9/10/08 - I send an email after getting my verification with a simple inquiry as to when mine might be shipped or if there is a delay on them at all because I didn't get my order in before 9/8/08. I received a response that day stating that they would be shipped out by the end of the week.
9/12/08 - I didn't get a tracking number or any sort of verification that my package had been shipped so I decided to call and spoke to a woman who told me that any preorders had been shipped that day and UPS was having trouble getting tracking numbers out due to a mix up. OK, not so bad...
9/15/08 - I begin to see that some are arriving and people are getting tracking numbers, by reading the forums. I still haven't gotten mine but I let it go, I decided it give it another day.
9/16/08 - I Still have nothing in my email about drums being shipped, my credit card is not charged, and I am a bit concerned as to what is going on. I send a much longer email stating all I just did above and I asked what is going on with my order. I get a response not an hour later saying that my package will be shipped within 24 hours. WHAT?! So after 2 confirmations that the package went out on Friday it won't even be out till the following day now (9/17/08). I respond with a much more direct email and ask that due to the failure to properly communicate to me what was going on if they would offer expedited shipping to me to make up for the (Friday-Wed) time difference when it was SUPPOSED to be out. I received no email response after that one.
I am one step away from canceling my order but I don't even know if I can do that because the emailing for these people is so shotty and I don't know if I will even get a hold of them. I am going to try calling and speaking to someone about this situation but I don't know what that would get. Has anyone else had any problem like this? Any results? This wouldn't as big of a deal if I had a functioning set, but like I said, I have a drums set in terrible shape. There is a yellow pad cracked and duct taped like no one's business, it is penny modded so much I could send in my RB1 set to buy the ION, and crosstalk happens so much it makes some songs with heavy yellow almost impossible to play.
That is my rant for those who cared to read it. I am very open to suggestions, and I tell you. If EVER there is another product like this offered through inMusic, I will never buy again. What terrible customer service.

Whatever man... Just calm down. They had to ship out thousands od 33lb boxes. You said yourself that you didn't order until late in the process.
I'm sure this is the largest distribution they've ever done. Just give them a few days. If it takes you another week to get it, you'll be alright.
The response from people who have theirs already is overwhelmingly positive. You know you'll get a good product when it gets there. PS3 users can't even order it yet.

The first shipment was actually sent out on Friday, so you'd be getting it this week regardless of when you placed the order (I was in the first set, and I'm slated to get my delivery on Friday). Depending on where you are in the State comapred to Reno depends on when you'll be recieving it. Middle America recieved theirs today. They also won't charge your credit card until they are about to ship it (that is, they don't want to put a charge on your card until they are good and ready to get your package on the road). And, lastly, there was an "issue" with UPS that they couldn't send out the tracking numbers to everyone on Friday (this is in the FAQ's). Just call up the store (954.761.7550) and have your order number ready. They'll be able to help.

They had thousands of units ordered since July to ship out. You ordered yours way at the tail end of things. My order went in August 27th and it arrived today.
Patience and cut them a little slack. For a first time venture in mass sales, I think they're doing pretty darned good.

I would be livid too, but I've also had stuff exactly like this happen so often that I would not be surprised, either. In situations like this you are better off lowering your expectations, which at least gives you a chance to be pleasantly surprised.
And this made me laugh:

Well I don't have my standard drumset yet. If you are this impatient, never move to Canada.

What he said. People have been ordering them since July, you ordered yours in September. You think it's fair for them to skip over pre-orders just to ship yours out? I don't. I DO think it's kind of crappy though that they said it would be shipped out by the end of the week, but I would give them the benefit of the doubt that they somehow were confused.

If you ask me, it doesn't matter if he pre-ordered 4 years ago, or last week. If he asked them regarding shipping estimates and they told him it would ship friday, that's when it should ship, maybe monday at the latest in the event something might have happened.
But after wednesday rolls around and it's still not shipped, and his card still isn't charged, and nobody has replied to the email really, I'd be pissed off too. When paying a good price for something, I expect good service, or if they can't ship it for some reason, be honest and say so.

Exactly how I feel. I understand the other views, but the point is that if they had told me that it would be a few more days or whatnot I would have been ok with that. The fact that I have had 3 confirmations of it being shipped, 2 in email so I have physical proof, completely hurts their credibility. I know I wasn't in the first people to order (as I said in my OP) but I made that very clear to them too. By the end of today, 9/17/08 I still received no email from them, no tracking # from UPS and I checked with my CC company and no charge either, so I have been lied to three times now.
Even if the first 2 lied to me and SOMEONE said it was delayed then it is fine. I know it will be a bit, but to get my hopes up, drop them, and then do it 2 more times... come on, show a little professionalism.
