Probably the wrong place for this, but I don't really care. My hype train has been impossibly derailed in the form of my wife's grandmother and a two-months-to-live prognosis. Still picking this up tomorrow, but I doubt the box will even be opened for a week or more. Some things are more important, and this is one of those times. Also, the b-day party bash I've talked about here is most likely off too, at least I imagine so. Dunno, wife is on the road (we left the hospital last night thinking things were ok and she'd be heading home tomorrow) right now, maybe the family will decide that a party to get their minds off things will be a good idea. No clue.

So I hope everyone enjoys the game and I'll join you all online whenever I get the chance. Sorry to be a downer, but I've spent so many months sharing my enthusiasm w/ you all, I just wanted to come along and let you know how badly it all got crushed.

That's a tough break. Take care of your own first, Rock Band will still be here when times aren't quite so rough.

That's a tough break man. Hope things go as well as they can for you. My grandfather died earlier this year, but his downturn was just a few days, enough for my mom to leave and spend a few hours with him before he passed. It really does suck, but count your blessings that you can enjoy your time with her now while she's still with you. I'm sure we'll all be keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers.

Rock Band will still be there when you get back. Family first. Good luck, and my prayers are with you.

Stay positive.

That is tough. My grandpa died a few years ago due to colon cancer, so I can feel what you're going through too. Stay strong for her, be someone she can count on for a smile whenever she sees you. :)

Just remember that no matter what, your loved ones come first. We'll all be here for you whenever you're ready to play too... Just hit us up online. :)

My grandmother was given a two month when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. The wait is rough, but gives you and your loved one plenty of time to come to terms with the situation. Best of luck.

Pretty weak man, just set RB aside for now. It's a cool game, but it's just a game. Just fully support your wife through this as I'd imagine it's a hard time for her. I really hope everything works out for you man.

My condolences go out to you, I have been in your shoes with my father. The game will always be here. I made the mistake when my father was dying, i went home and played counterstrike to get my mind off of it as he was literally dying, I have never forgiven myself for that. Spend the time with your family, trust me! Rockband will always be here when you are ready!

My fiance's grandma died a year ago and it was really rough. She was given a good prognosis but took a sudden turn for the worse. The time she spent with us after the initial diagnosis was extremely valuable and absolutely necessary. Life's short and we sometimes take for granted the people who are closest to us. I hope this helps a little, death isn't something to be scared of... It's just a transitional phase.

Tough break, Togs. :(

But, like others have said, family first. We'll all be here waiting for when circumstances allow you to rock.

My best wishes are with your family.
