That would be nice to see. I like the idea of SOTY in RB, and I think that's a good song to start with. For Hoobastank though, I think "Crawling in the Dark" would make a better all around band song. Good list though.

Alternative is quite vague its own way, but I'll give it a shot here. Really, you can't think about yourself in these kinds of situations. There will always be at least one person who disagrees with your song suggestion, but there's nothing wrong with that. I actually respect people who dislike my taste, as long as they try it out. I despise people who aren't musically tolerable. Judging bands because of one song in a game, or anything else of the sorts. Anyways, here it is:

Dinosaur Jr: "This Is All I Came To Do", "Been There All The Time", "Start Choppin"

Nirvana: "Blew", "Love Buzz", "Swap Meet", "Serve The Servents", "Very Ape". I actually would like stuff from Bleach, but anything is good.

Babes In Toyland: "Bluebell". For the hell of it, another Riot Grrl band would be good.

Candlebox: "Far Behind", "Stand"

Cold: "Stupid Girl". I haven't heard this song in a while, and it's not bad.

Counting Crows: "Hard Candy". Now, while these guys aren't really the type of rock you guys think they would be, this song is quite catchy.

The Cranberries: "Zombie"

Elliott Smith: "L.A.". Now, this guy is pretty cool. Not all of his songs are based on electric guitar, but it's real mellow stuff.

Eve 6: "Inside Out"

Everclear: "Father of Mine"

Foo Fighters: "Generator"

Franz Ferdinand: "This Fire" (I think that's the name of the song. I could be wrong...)

Fuel: "Shimmer"

Goo Goo Dolls: Try anything, it's decent enough.

Keane: "Crystal Ball"

Meat Puppets: "Backwater"

The Melvins: "Revolve", "Queen"

Pearl Jam: "Corduroy", "Wishlist"

Screaming Trees: Anything from these guys

Silversun Pickups: Anything from Carnavas

Smashing Pumpkins: There's a lot out there

Sonic Youth: "Reena"

The Spin Doctors: "Two Princess"

Don't worry, bud. Everyone's favorites are gonna be bashed at least once in their lives. Goo Goo Dolls are actually from my area, but they aren't liked here which is unfortunate. I mean, I saw them live and they weren't bad.

Coldplay - Shiver
Interpol - Slow Hands
Radiohead - Paranoid Android
Franz Ferdinand - Dark of the Matinee
Bloc Party - Hunting for Witches
The Cure - Fascination Street
Snow Patrol - Chocolate
The Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
The Killers - Sam's Town
Death Cab for Cutie - The Sound of Settling
The Shins - New Slang
The Strokes - Heart in a Cage

15 fantastic songs. Not really the OP's brand of 'Alternative' though.

Much more along the line of alternative i'm looking for!! Nice choices!!! I would add Kings of Leon to that list and possibly take off Snow Patrol.

No, I'm dying for some Snow Patrol at the moment.

But instead of Chocolate I would choose Signal Fire or Open Your Eyes.

They're kinda bland to me. I don't really think of them as indie. I think of them as corporate radio rock.

Whatever genre you think they are, they are still very good. I want them for DLC.
