View Full Version : DLC difficulty??

Can we get a sticky thread for listing the difficulty tiers that the DLC songs are put into? I'm assuming they will fit in with the main tracks just like the bonus songs did (right?). If the DLC is indeed 'Day 1' than info for 15 tracks should be showing up shortly, and it would be useful for people who don't want everything deciding what songs to buy - like if they were looking for a really hard drum song to buy, they could check and see what tier it falls in.
It'd also be cool if we could have a decent way of rating the bass difficulty for each song. Hmm...

Why would we need a sticky for that? I'm sure that could go into "Info about the songs"

It doesn't seem nearly as functional to have new people - who will presumably show up after they get the game and want more info about the DLC - to have to sift through 57 pages of unrelated info, and the main song list on the first page isn't really set up to include info like pricing and tiered difficulty (and it can't be added to by people). If there's actually going to be hundreds of DLC tracks coming out, it seems like a separate thread for specific info about the released tracks would be very handy.

But a sticky on DLC "difficulty"?
meh whatever. I won't be around that much anyways.

I don't think this is a terrible idea. I am not sure how many people will purchase a song because of its difficulty, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have that information readily available just in case. Or just reformat the Song List portion to carry all the information that one might want. An downloadable Excel sheet would probably be a decent idea if the forum would support it (which I doubt).

Huh - I guess it seems useful to me - if some guy was looking for really challenging Vocal tracks and didn't know most of the songs already it seems like it'd be handy for picking which songs you wanted.
If there were hundreds of songs to choose from and I didn't know a song I probably wouldn't get a first Tier guitar because I wouldn't play it, but if I didn't know it and it was an 8th Tier song, I might give it a shot as it would at least be challenging and that would give me enough time to get to learn it.
Or if you just wanted to get the Who tracks from Who's Next with guitar solos - that's just a handful of them, really. Seems useful to me, but, you know, whatever.

I wasn't trying to suggest that no one would find it useful, but my general guess is that people will buy DLC by what they like, not by difficulty. But I agree with you that it doesn't hurt to have it and certainly there will be occasions where it would be useful for a lot of people, I just don't think it is generally useful. I don't think we are disagreeing about whether it would be useful or not, just how often someone might use it is all. I think it is a good idea.

Maybe a bassist advisory board? We can rate each song on a sliding scale, and that gets condensed into a numeric rating. For example, I give My Sharona 3.5 Entwistles, on the 10-point scale.
