Can Band Leader change difficulty?

So we've already established that the Band Leader is stuck with whatever instrument he/she chooses at the beginning of the tour.

So is the Band Leader also locked into whatever difficulty level they initially choose? After watching a few videos on youTube, I've established that I will be able to get by pretty well on Expert, but a handful of solos are waaay out of my league, and I may have to scale back to Hard for a couple songs.

If I'm the Leader, will I be able to do this?

Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe each member can choose difficulty for every individual gig.

You can change the difficulty you play at any time. Also every band member can set their own difficulty. Just remember the lowest common denominator rule. If someone chooses Easy, you will be capped at the amount of fans you can get on the Easy difficulty.

I also highly recommend having the band leader play guitar. Then the leader can either play lead or bass guitar, as there is usually on guitar when you play the game anyways.

Wait a sec. The leader can switch between guitar and bass? I though the leader was locked into one instrument.

If your character is a "guitar" character, he can switch between guitar & bass. :) You choose before the gig starts.

There's Vocalists, Drummers, and Guitar Players. Guitar Players choose guitar or bass before every song, you're not locked into one or the other at character creation.

Cool!!! That's great news. It'll be nice to pass off the lead guitar duties to a friend once and a while and give my fingers a little break.

You cannot change the leader of your band, so far as I can tell.

This is correct. You can change your difficulty before every gig, and you cannot change the leader of your band in Band World Tour mode.
