Alright, I just sent for an RMA on a foot pedal that snapped, and EA wants me to provide a receipt that I purchased the game within 60 days. However, I shouldn't need to do that until October 1st, as stated by HMX themselves. The fools who answered me in the Tech Support area had no idea what I was talking about.

Here's the quote from the HMX Warranty Post in Tech Support:

***EDIT - 06/26/08***
60 day warranty leniency update

On Monday 06/30/08 we will be returning to our previous leniency in regards to the 60 day warranty. This means that from Monday we will not be requiring receipt verification for peripheral replacements.

This extended leniency period will last until October 1, 2008. From October 1st we will require receipt verification and that a defective product be reported to us within the 60 day period.

Here's my previous post.

Anyways, what the hell is going on with the warranty leniency? It's a load of BS.

And, the whole "We are satisfied with our products" thing is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. If you get a new drumset after, say, 40 days, and they send you a new set that breaks in 20 days, guess what? Get ready to shell out another 80 bucks for a drum kit. Removing the warranty is a travesty when they have yet to fix the problems with their peripherals (I received, thus far, a drum set with a non-working red pad, and 2 faulty guitars back to back). I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this to change.

Ha. Join the club. Everyone's instruments break.

There's really nothing you can do about it besides crying on the Forums or buying a new set. RMA just sends you refurb crap.

There's also the GH instruments... I've never had any problems with the GH instruments.

Also be careful if you do the rapid delivery. I returned the faulty guitar to them the day I got the replacement. 2 months later, stiill no removal of the $125 credit card hold??

Yeah but the thing is, they are asking for a proof of purchase already when they shouldn't be until October 1st, so if I get charged for this I'm going to go insane. Anyone recently RMA and get the same message? I'm just going to ignore it and see what happens I guess..

I hate all of you.

BTW this is Rock Band 1, not 2.

Did you use the web form, or did you call EA Support?

If you call them, they should set you right up. Tip, call them later in the evening, like, 9 PM. I've found they're a lot friendlier. 1-650-628-1001
