Hi guys.
I am signed into my 360 with my gamertag that I use (only one on it)
and I am going thru tour mode by myself.
I've played a ton of songs, and are playing songs that are locked and not even available thru Quick Play.
I just was home for lunch today and played some Paramore thru Tour mode.
But yet when I go back to my QuickPlay list, I still only have the first 20songs available and nothing seems to be unlocking
I dont care to use the code because I just want the songs unlocked for good.
What am I doing wrong?

My tour info seems to save okay when I come back to play, but the songs never unlock.. (even before I power-down the system)

make sure you are signed in on the instrument you are playing with.
If you are signed in on guitar but are playing drums, it won't save anything(or even give you achievements.)
If you have no fail mode on it won't save unlocked songs or give achievements either.

Forgive my ignorance...
What do you mean... signed in on drums? (or specific instrument)
Do you mean that if I play tour on guitar, then the only way I'll see the unlocked songs on the QuickPlay is if I start with a guitar?
If so, that is not true. I went home at lunch and played Paramore on guitar on Tour mode, then after the song, went Back to the main menu, did QuickPlay, and the basic 20 songs only showed up.
I dont use the no fail mode.

^^^ What he said. This happened to me yesterday too. I had my Strat plugged in and because of auto-login it signed into my account with the Strat, but I was on the drums. So when I went to quickplay there were only 20 songs. I signed out of my gamertag and unplugged the strat and then signed in with the drums and my songs were all there.

Does this go back to the first time you launch RB2 and which controller you sign in with?
Because at home (at lunch today) my strat was the only thing plugged in when I powered up.
I signed into my gamertag using the strat, did my Paramore song on tour, then went back to quickplay, and nothing new showed up.
Am I like screwed somehow here?

Yeah that's weird.
If you are only using one instrument, and your gamertag is signed in with that controller, then the songs you unlock should save.
I'm not sure what's going on here.

When you're signed in to a particular gamertag, you're also signed in on a particular controller. Especially if you use the "Auto Sign-In" feature on the Xbox 360 (I don't remember whether that's turned on by default), it's very possible that it may be signing your gamertag in on a different controller than the one you're actually using.
Next time you play, hit the Xbox Guide button before you actually play anything and make sure that the tab that comes up shows you as being signed into your own gamertag.
Also, if you ever use two storage devices (e.g. a hard drive and also a memory unit), make sure you're consistently choosing the same one when it prompts you for where your save file is.

So... tell me if this is my problem.
When I started the game the first time, I created 2 singers (male/female) using my 360 hand controller. (figuring that it didnt matter now becasue you can switch instruments with your people at will)
When I power up lately, I'm always powereing up not using my controller, but my strat or drums.
Is this my problem becasue when I use my people they are considered singers? (because of me using the 360 controller?)

I don't think so...I did the same thing (created all my characters with the regular Xbox controller) and I haven't noticed any problem with songs not unlocking, although I usually play guitar or drums.
If it's really not saving ANY progress and you can live with having to create your characters over again, you might want to consider as a last resort just deleting your save file from the Dashboard (or moving it to another hard drive or memory unit, if you have one) and starting over.

It saves my characters, and scores and Tour information... everything seems to be saving fine.. but just the songs aren't unlocking.
I have no problem with starting over, but
#1) What will that do with my imported RB1 songs? I'm guessing nothing
since the import tool was used w/the RB1 DVD.
#2) What IS the correct way to be unlocking songs? Just by playing them on tour? Do venues have to be completely closed out to unlock a song, or once you have access to a song, you should see it on the QuickPlay list?

Yeah... What he said. It's not about the tour mode progress not getting saved correctly or anything. I'm all the way over to London and Dublin and I've played a bunch of the songs throughout the tour and it shows that I've played them and how many stars I got. Then I go to quickplay OR to make your own setlist in one of the cities on tour, and I still can only pick from like 25 songs.
So really what he (and me now) is asking is.... what is the method of unlocking songs? It can't just be that you have to have successfully played through that particular song in tour mode because a bunch that I did successfully play still aren't unlocking.

Well, I delted all my save files last night and am starting over, using nothing more than my guitar. Didnt have time to play thru much TOUR yet, so I haven't hit any songs that are unlockables... I'll keep you posted.
To unlock a song for quick play, all you have to do is have it available to you in TOUR mode, correct? I think that was how RB1 worked.
Can anyone confirm?

all the songs i unlocked are not available in the quickplay. having party and people think its pretty crappy. i spent all week unlocking as much as i could.
also the all song code shows that it worked when entered but no songs get unlocked.
even if it means unlocking all the songs automatically until this issue is resolved.
bought for parties but my guests can only play 20 songs and all my dlc and rb1 songs.

update , scrolll down and you will find box to enter code. sorry for the post.

Well,
After deleting all my save games, and ONLY using the guitar controller to sign into my gamerprofile and starting to rip thru songs in Tour mode...
I'm finally gettnig songs to unlock as I play 'em. Yay.
So I dont know. Maybe it had to do with what controller I used to originally set up my game, characters and band...?
Anyways it seems to be working this time.
I'm just going to play thru with guitar till I get everything unlocked.
Or maybe I'll try switching instruments and see what happens since I"m only at about 25 songs total unlocked so far.
Peace Out

Hey,
I found out that all this trouble simply depends on what device is detected as the primary device! So if you want to play the Tour with your guitar, power up the Xbox with the guitar! This will initialize it as the first device, and when you launch Rock Band and start the Tour Mode, the guitar will be linked to your profile (I found no way to change this on the fly within the game!)
If you want to play the Tour with the drums, power down the Xbox and relaunch it using the drum controller, etc!
This was the only way I found to unlock properly my songs /-:
(Sorry if my english is strange, I'm french :-)
