Unusual DLC Question

I have a question, obviously.
Tomorrow, I plan on going to gamestop at lunch and picking up my copy of Rock Band.
And from there, I plan on going to my friend's house and setting up my xbox and my copy of Rock Band and its gear.

I am going to my friend's house because I live in the country and my three bandmates all live in the suburbs within two minutes of each other, so it is much more convenient.

That's great, all happy back story bull, woohoo!
Here's the problem though, I can't get internet there.

So to the problem, can I download the extra content without actually possessing the game? In other words, wake up tomorrow morning, download all the song packs and content without the actual game's disc in the drive or in memory, then buy the game at noon, go to my friend's house, and have all the content there? It's my xbox, once again.

Any help appreciated.

If the content is posted, I believe you can just connect, go through the dashboard, and purchase it like anything else.

I have an oblivion pack on my xbox even though I don't own it yet, because the pack happened to be free/reduced as part of a promotion.

depends on how they intend to deliver it, but if it not a custom service for download ( like halo 3s beast of a network ) and it is on the Marketplace, then i don't see why not

i'm pretty sure that as long as you put the game into your xbox, and your system recognizes that you have played RB you can download content from the XBL marketplace without having the game actually in your xbox. I did this with GHII. I'm not sure if you actually do need the game on your system or not but based on my experience you do.

do you have GH3? If not then you could try to download the free GH3 track pack and see if it works
