Now that we're getting Love Spreads, please tell me this opens the way for one of THE BEST albums of the past 20 years? It's not like the album is unknown. Let's see what lists it's been put on.

#87 Spin 100 Greatest Albums
#5 The Guardian Top 100 Albums
Listed in Time's All-TIME top 100 albums
#1 NME Best British Albums
#1 NME Greatest Albums
#6 Q Magazine Greatest Albums
#39 Pitchfork Greatest Albums of the 80s

Okay, so the accolades are definitely there. As for the songs? Well, just take a gander at some of these:

1. I Wanna Be Adored
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cme2q0N7nM

2. She Bangs the Drums (in GH3)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=---X12mY14Q

3. Waterfall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQUxCQxu9og

4. Made Of Stone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_9Rz85N8mA

5. I Am the Resurrection (definitely in my top 10 songs ever)

I'd do whatever it would take to get this full album. I can't think of a single weak track on the entire disc.

I'd buy all these tracks in a second. YES for more Stone Roses.

YES and some Jesus and Mary Chain too. These bands were big influences on a lot of today's bands.

i can get up in some J&MC, dawg.
if i saw that "darklands" was coming as full album DLC, i'd probably have a heart-attack.

I'd kill for The Stone Roses, maybe even some My Bloody Valentine but Loveless would be a bit of a stretch given lyric content (and the fact that said lyrics are also open to interpretation due to being somewhat inaudible).

You know, before the whole Lush song in RB2, I would have said MBV wouldn't work. Now I definitely want it, and any other shoegaze possible.

Also hooray on the Stone Roses support! Let's hope the masters are even available, though, as the song in GH3 was a (poorly done) cover.

This would be AWESOME!!! Even more awesome if they released the North American version (so fools gold can be included)

So I just have to wonder, totally hypothetically, if the charts for Don't Stop would just be Waterfall in reverse, since that's what the song is. At least it'd make it a bit easier on Harmonix!

One of my favorite bands. I think this would be great dlc.

Definitely one of the most influential albums of the last 25 years. Bring it on.
You should suggest this thread for the the thread of threads too.

Although I'm not sure the US version of the album would be the best idea. A full Fool's Gold would either be insanely epic or epically insane regarding drums (they would simply equal death due to the drums being both very repetitive and difficult, as well as the song obviously being almost 10 minutes long. CURSE YOU RENI AND YOUR AWESOMENESS!!! *fist shake*)

I did check and "Fool's Gold" is under 10 minutes, but now that we have that Rush track from "MP", there shouldn't be a 10 minute limit on songs.

I'm not complaining that there would be a time limit, I'm just saying it's more of a case that it's almost 10 minutes of very repetitive drumming that also happens to be difficult. xD

reni is a godly drummer, all the songs will gibe any mortal trouble. I love Mani's bass playing, Squire is an underrated god. Bring on the album, and a couple more songs from second coming and some rare tracks (sally cinnamon)

KappaTI
09-21-2008, 11:26 AM
Ooh yes, Sally Cinnamon would be great. What the World Is Waiting For is another one I would like. Hell, just give us the whole discography - it's only two albums and some b-sides after all.

Dont think Harmonix, just do it. Please, this is on of the best albums of all time. This album would be such an epic win words wouldnt be able to describe my happiness.

The only track that wouldn't work is Elizabeth My Dear (only 56 seconds long).

The Stone Roses deserve an album for sure.

Someone mentioned Loveless too, which would be my favorite album from the 90's behind OK Computer.

I think that everyone should request this album through the request a song feature. If we stand united we can get this album!

If the Stone Roses album came to Rock Band as DLC, not only would I buy it but I would probably weep with joy.
No lie.

stevo796
09-28-2008, 09:12 PM
It's probably not gonna happen, 'cause Harmonix doesn't have a song from a purely independant record label (silvertone in this case) so it's not gonna happen 98% guarantee.

^EPIC FAIL

Do you want me to count every indie song in this game?

QFT! The only reason I can think of that may stop the album from coming out is the lack of master tracks since GH3 had a cover of "She Bangs the Drums".

I know the album is awsome, but bumping the thread isnt the right thing to do, it just ticks the mods off and turns of other pepole.

I wasn't bumping, just posting my thoughts. And I didn't start the thread either.

Now this is a bump.

A bump for justice?

Anyway I was thinking of a 12 pack instead of the full album. While I would be thrilled to have a full album a few songs from the album (Don’t stop, Fools Gold, and Elizabeth My Dear) wouldn’t be fun to play at all. Here’s what I had in mind (In no particular order):

1.I Am the Resurrection
2.She Bangs the Drums
3.I Wanna Be Adored
4.Waterfall
5.Bye Bye Badman
6.(Song for My) Sugar Spun Sister
7.Made of Stone
8.Elephant Stone
9.Sally Cinnamon
10.Ten Storey Love Song
11.Daybreak
12.Made of Stone

Love Spreads would be on the list, but we already have it.

The Stone Roses are the most underrated band of all time. I'm not even lying. It hurts me to know how many people have no idea who they are. Yeah, they had 2 albums. But those were of the best albums I've ever heard. Especially the first one.

The first album is just AMAZING, and the second one is GREAT. They are a great band. One of my favourites

KappaTI
12-28-2008, 08:03 PM
I don't know if I'd call them underrated. They just aren't that well known in the US. Honestly, if I Am the Resurrection somehow got played in its full length on the radio, you can be sure more people would be aware of how great they are.

I'm glad there is a thread for this. The Stone Roses album would be amazing - it definitely has a place in Rock Band.

05-12-2009, 02:34 PM
As much as I love this album, I think a huge pack would be better. I'd love to play other songs off the SC EP and Second Coming (Driving South, All Across the Sands, etc.).

I dunno, from what I've heard they're releasing the 20th anniversary edition of the debut album in August, hopefully HMX will try to tie in with that and give us the album for DLC! :D

Definitely want more Stone Roses - album idea is fantastic, but if we only get a subset it's:
I Wanna Be Adored
Fools Gold
Made of Stone
Elephant Stone
She Bangs the Drums
One Love

Of course, that's practically the entire album... ;)

It'd be amazing to play.

Wow, a band of this calibur should have way more posts than what I see in this thread right now. I really want this band in Rockband as I would think it would revive an interest in their music again. Everyone was so good at their particular instrument especially Reni at the drums that they would be perfect for Rockband. I've been dying to play Waterfall on drums.

Every week I keep praying that maybe a Stone Roses song will turn up. Can't we please get The Stone Roses album! It's probably the best British album in 30 years.

Yeah, we need some more Stone Roses. Fools Gold would be awesome! I would also like Driving South, I Wanna Be Adored, Begging You, and Tears.

Yeps, yet another iconic band of the 90's Brit Pop era that really needs way more songs in Rock Band.

I voted for this in the "5 albums you would love to see" thread, 'Waterfall' 'This is the One' and 'I Am The Resurrection' especially would all be fantastic to play.
