Is there any reason anyone knows of that is not more Iron Maiden on Rock Band?

It would so great to get Seventh son of a Seventh son album, not to mention some of there other albums.

I came across something called GH custom. It seems if you have GH3 on PC, with this GH custom software i guess it is you can put any song you like in the game, and it maps it and everything.

I only play drums but would seriously consider this if they had one that worked for the drums on GH4 pc, seeing as maiden content seems to be restricted for some reason.

I'm pretty sure Iron Maiden has said no more rhythm games.

Yeah, it sucks.

Really? I just lost a lot of respect for them then.

I haven't heard that before it does explain a lot however considering they didn't even allow for the cover of 'Run To The Hills' to be uploaded off Rock Band. Its odd to see them shunning this and yet we see albums from Judas Priest and Megadeth. And GH has Metallica's new CD. You would think they would want to put more of their music out there.

Manager Rod Smallwood and Bruce dislike the idea that Rock Band is in any way connected to MTV. Remember that when Maiden needed the airplay the worst in the US, all forms of mainstream music broadcast turned their backs on them.

And that apparently justifies them turning their backs on their fans who happen to play music games.

Not cool.

I also believe that Heavy Metal Mania played a part in this. It was MTV's original metal show and Bruce was the host. For some reason, however, the show was canned and replaced with Headbanger's Ball with Bruce leaving. My guess is that this contributed quite a bit to the hatred towards MTV.

I'm actually starting to buy into Crimson Saint's theory. It takes about 3 months to finish all the charts for one song. Maiden didn't finish touring until early August. This explains why Maiden isn't in both RB2 and GH:WT, yet the cover for Run to the Hills is in Rock Revolution. The masters do exist, but I think Iron Maiden is not to keen on handing over their masters to either company. If it was an issue of masters, I'm quite sure Neversoft would have asked them to re-record it (see: MC5, Motorhead, Sex Pistols) or would have used a live version (see: Lynyrd Skynyrd). However, since they were on tour this was impossible. If Iron Maiden were displeased with the quality of the previous covers, I don't think they would have given permission to Zoe Mode to use Run to the Hills. If CS's theory is correct we should at the very least see a single from Iron Maiden's new album in the near future.

I wish they would do this for Harmonix and all their fans.I love Number of the Beast but the cover is terrible.I also wanna see 2 Minutes to Midnight.

I figured because of the tour they wouldn't be reachable to give permission to anything.

But remember they have the master of "Number of the Beast" on Guitar Hero 3. So I think it is not outside of the realm of possibility to see them in Rock Band again, but it might take some time.

One thing that is true is that they are not fans of MTV, because MTV basically did deny them a lot of airtime in the past, and they still deny them a lot of airtime now.

Maiden is really big in Europe, but in the U.S they are kind of frowned upon it seems. Ozzfest kicked them out for some reason years ago (I think it was Sharon Osbourne doing that) and a lot of the younger metal fans don't particularly like Maiden I am finding, which is really upsetting because of all the Metal acts out there, I consider them one of, if not, the best in the world, and at the very least, one of the most influential bands still in Metal today.

But, I think Bruce will make some deal to get them back into the game somehow. They did just finish a major world tour, so they now have time again to make deals. And since they control all of their music, they can send it out when they want to, so I am optomistic that we will see them in the future, but it will take some time.

Di'anno did an album a while back re-doing all the first two masterpieces, i'm sure he'd be more than stoked to get it going. Maybe even get enough change to be let back in the states!

Before anyone comes in saying the masters for Iron Maiden are not usable, please just put that to rest because it is not true. Maybe the first two albums (hopefully not but it's possible)....but not after that.

I only knew a few my age that are. Most people I know who like Metal listen to Slipknot and Disturbed over Maiden and other elder groups, like Black Sabbath and AC/DC.

Granted, this is most people I know. Some of my closer friends enjoy Maiden and the aforementioned bands a lot more than the new stuff. Nothing to take away from the other groups, but the elder groups are really where I hold my aliegences, other than Power Metal which it seems like not too many people listen to it.

I see a lot of kids in my area that wear Maiden shirts that obviously don't even know what the band is. I think its the whole Hot Topic thing they have their **** plastered in that place. I find that Maiden is probably a lot more popular based on the fact that they have everything with Eddie everywhere. Last time I saw them there were quite a few kids younger than myself, I'm 22, there and even Bruce commented about it to the crowd.
