I just got my set of RB2 drums. I played them for a while - they work perfectly. After an hour or so break, I turn the xbox back on, during the Hello There intro vid keep on tyring to hit green. No response. I press the green button - it works.

I have a completely fresh set of batteries, the xbox is in sync with the drums.

I'm pissed.

Anyone else have this happen to you? How can I fix it? Or RMA. I DON'T want to wait another 2 weeks for freaking drums. Damnit.

Not as pissed as I got:
At the VERY end of Painkiller...during the drum solo my ENTIRE drumset did the same thing. Didn't think to check the buttons though. I had to turn off the drums then turn them back on....JUST IN TIME TO FAIL OUT. Turning them off and back on again made them start working again...but I REALLY hope this doesn't happen again.

EDIT: almost forgot....for whatever reason the foot pedal kept working even though the pads stopped responding.

Same thing happened to me when I was playing online last night, pads unresponsive but the pedal still works. I shut off the controller and it worked again, but only for another song or two.

I have this problem with my drum set as well. I'll be playing fine and then all of a sudden the drum pads will stop responding but the buttons will still work. Turning the controller off and on fixes it for a few minutes.

At first I thought it was a wireless connection problem but why would the buttons still work. Then I tried changing the batteries. I've had this problem with unresponsiveness twice so far and changing the batteries has fixed it both times. The problem is that I've had to change the batteries twice in two days.

Anyone know if there is an option to wire the drum set to the console? I feel like that would solve a lot of problems.

had the same problem last night. Drums kept disconnecting then they completely went out, the pads. Buttons still worked. Turned on amd worked for one song then on/off/on/off until we stopped trying and just went to RB1 drums.

I'm having a different issue, but it's keeping me from playing AT ALL. I just opened my box and hooked everything up, but the drum pedal does not register. I tried unplugging/plugging it back in, restarting the controller and 360, but i can get no response at all. This is very sad.

I'm having the same problem with this. Where sometimes it just randomely starts to shut off in the middle of playing. Changing the battery seems to fix it BUT ITS NOT OUT OF BATTERY. I have used the batteries that I took out of my drumset for the past 20 hours in my cd player and the batteries are still going strong. This is the third pair of batteries i've gone through in probably 20 hours of playing the game. My guess is that the batteries are moving around or something and not staying put causing it to shut off.

I also have a problem with the green pad dropping notes randomely from time to time. Sometimes it just wont recognize A note until I start hitting it a little harder and then it picks up again. Seems to happen like once every 10-15 songs.

Anyone got an idea on any of theese problems or how to fix em ?

I've been mostly playing with a wired guitar (I'm using the one from Guitar Hero II, actualy). Over many, many hours, it has yet to have any problems when playing solo.

However, when playing online, it occasionally completely stops working. Most often in between songs, but occasionally in the middle of one. Disconnecting and reconnecting to the USB hub (from the Rock Band 1 Special Edition) usually fixes it, though once I had to pull the plug from the USB hub and plug it back in to get it working again. When it's dead, nothing works: the headset dies, Xbox button doesn't pull up the dashboard panel, and if a fret button happened to be down, it shows as continuously down on screen.

I suspect there's something weird with online play causing the controllers to lose sync. It's rather annoying.

for those having disconnect issues .... place some tape between the batteries and the cover.... your batteries are jarring loose .... thats whats causing the pads to become unresonsive and ur peddal only working or disconnecting completely.... ive done this tested it and it fixed my issue... im afraid to say that the screwdriver mod did not fix my second set ... 22808SL (on batter cover) it crosstalks yellow pad 50% .... wish i would have tried this mod on my first set before returning it im currently using a hairtie with no sock (ive heard rubberbands work too) but since the hair-tie has cotton over it already it seems to work better... 100% responsive and no crosstalk with this mod while i wait on my EA RMA to get here

I was in the middle of playing a long session with a bunch of friends and a few hours in, my brand spanking new drums just sort of gave out. Just the drum heads not the buttons, mind you. It happened two times in the next couple of hours which isn't so bad, but was mildly annoying at the time.

I was curious if anyone on this thread had sent in their drums, gotten a replacement and had it work?
Also, if HMX is listening, Rock Band = Attracts Pretty Girls = Awesome. Feel free to quote me and put that on a box somewhere. :)

I'M BAAAAAAAACK.....sorry. So this is really weird, my drums turned themselves off (probably the loose battery thing), but the strange thing is after turning them back on I started to fail horribly. Couldn't figure out why at first but then I realized it was hitting ALL the pads at the SAME time! I went from a full crowd meter down to fail in 2 seconds.:mad: anybody have this happen to them?

So in summary, my drums have gone from TOTALLY unresponsive to OVERLY responsive. AWESOME:rolleyes:
It seems to be ok after turning them off and back on again...but this is just uncalled for.
