Last time you were this hyped?

I don't know about the rest of you, but the older I get the less excited I get for games. This year happens to be a big exception, with two games I'm really super hyped for. Rock Band being #1 (and Mass Effect #2).

The last time I was this hyped for a game was probably for Ocarina of Time. MGS2 at a close second. Sure there've been others I was excited for since then, but none come close to the fevered pitch my hype level is at now for Rock Band. ARGH!!! It's so close!! Oh yeah: Happy Rock Band Eve, everyone!

Probably GTA: San Andreas. I left a football game early to get it (I was playing in the game). As for Rock Band, I am going to have to find some Tylenol PM or something to help me sleep because I am going to be going crazy.

i dont think i was ever this hyped for a game. the last time i had a rush for a game related item was when i got my ps3, but that's only because i was waiting for toys r us to get them in stock because i had a 25% off total purchase coupon that was valid towards game consoles...and the coupon was going to expire in two weeks so i was getting nervous. when they finally had a 60 gig in i was hauling ass to the store.

Im really excited for rock band! I was WAY MORE EXCITED for the PS3 coming out. I waited 32 hours in line. We went to a nearby city that was like only 20 min away, went to their local shopko and it was me and my 2 other friends that were gonna wait it out. My dad gave us all a ride at like 3 am to this shopko. We get there and there was NO ONE in line. We all were SOOO hyped. The manager comes to the store and tells us that she's making our line the official PS3 line. About an hour later she came out and told us the bad news. They were only getting 2 ps3's! I got one of them of course, without my dad's ride no one would be here. So my friends just talked it over. We just sat by the automatic doors, they wouldnt let us come into the store any further. One of the guys that worked there that was about a year older than us sat there and talked to us while he was on his break, he had a 360. A few of the older girls that worked there made us hot chocolate and gave us free skittles, lmao. It was a pretty sweet experience. Even the local paper interviewed us and got our picture, and we got talked to by a cop, we thought we were gonna be in trouble for curfew cuz we were only 15, but he said it was cool and that he would buzz by us every now and again to check up on us. The cop actually told us about when he stayed like 20 hours inline for his xbox360. It was pretty fun and I cant wait to do it again for PS4! haha :D

Ocarina of Time, I'm a huge zelda fan and after waiting 6 long years the final 2 months killed me.
It was worth the wait, now Rock band has me pumped up and I'm also sure it will be worth it.

I'd say the last time I was this hyped was the day leading up to the midnight launch to pick up my PS3. before that probably GHII, but I wasn't quite as hyped. I know the next time I'm going to be this hyped is leading up to the release of The Dark Knight next July, not game related, but man I'm already hyped about that movie.

Even before that, I'd say the last time I was this hyped was when I was about 8 and was getting a SNES for my birthday with Street Fighter 2. I had it all set up the night before with the cartridge in the slot so I could just run downstairs and flick it on straight away.

Last game: probably Goldeneye because me and my brother rented it a couple times before and then my parents finally bought it for us for X-Mas. I also got Diddy Kong Racing that christmas too. Good times. :D

I was also pretty hyped to get the Wii. It wasn't so much anticipation as it was relief when I found one. I hadn't preordered so I had to go hunt the next day. I stopped at a couple spots that had tons of people in line and said they were full. Then I went to a Toys R Us and was lucky enough to be like 18th in line and they were getting like 30 of them. So I stood in line for about an hour until the store opened up. Got my Wii, Zelda, Monkey Ball (:( ) and an extra remote/nunchuck. Was so happy when I played Wii Sports for the first time. I sound like an 8 year old but I was actually 22. :p

Because this time, it's not just the anticipation of playing a fantastic video game. On top of that, it's also about coming as close as I'll probably ever get to living out those rock star fantasies we all have.

It's not just going to be a game for me, it's going to be an experience.

Last time I was this hyped was about a month ago when I went to Radiohead.com like I do regularly to find out their new album would be arriving in ten days. I found out just about 3 minutes after their new site was up and I had to call every single person I knew.

I was just talking to my roommate about this. Definitely Metal Gear Solid. Only I had to wait TWO years for that! Waiting for Rock Band seemed much more harsh though... I can't believe I'll finally be playing in just a few more hours!!!

I've never been super excited about any release before this one.

The closest I came was with Half-Life 2 since I had some time to kill and played it at 3:00 AM (as soon as my pre-load unlocked). I was excited, but nowhere near this.

Ocarina of Time and Perfect Dark (the original) come to mind. Wind Waker too (I bought a Gamecube for it after all). The last time I was this hyped though? Probably for Super Paper Mario earlier this year... it looked fantastic.

Aside from games though it was probably last week waiting to come home from Argentina where I'd been studying (sans Guitar Hero) for nearly 4 months. I get back and BAM! Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect and Rock Band... awesome.
