Email responses from old threads- what is going on?

I keep getting all these emails telling me there has been a reply to a thread here, but when i click the link the thread hasn't had a post in a couple months. In some cases, the threads were closed a couple months ago.

is something going on with the forums here?

Ironically, I almost never get an email when there is really a response to a thread I'm subcribed to. I do have that option set in my profile, but it just doesn't work for some reason. It used to, but it hasn't worked for a while now...

I got a few emails like that yesterday, saying that I had a new Private Message. But they were delayed by like a day or two, since I had gotten a few PM's the day before with no email.

Just the forums catching up with themselves apparently :)

The forum e-mail system has been acting up a lot lately. It's not just you. In the last couple days I've gotten a ton of backlog sent to me.

I actually just got one about an hour ago. I've had a steady stream of them over the last month or so that are pretty dated.

Even weirder is I've been using the 'unscribe to this thread' link in the emails. My CP says there is no subscription, yet I'm still getting emails notifying me of replies.

And of course as mentioned, the replies aren't even new. The email I got today was for a thread with a last post date of 8/27.

Yep, I got about 10 emails overnight last night about having new Private Messages. The emails were all dated over the past like 6 weeks. So apparently the mailing function of the forums was bogged down for a while, and now it's just playing catchup :)

Holy crap. I thought I was the only one. One night last week I received about 30 subscription updates over night. I've been receiving them steadily this afternoon too. Again - old threads that have been viewed since the last update...
