How many copies does your store have?

I thought this would be an interesting topic.. I know many of you have called your closest retailier and asked how many copies there are for your system.

I just Called my local Best Buy (Cambridge, MA) yeah the one right down the street from HMX.

Anyhow I was disappointed to hear they only had 10 copies for the PS3, I should have asked how many copies they had for 360 just to measure the difference!

WHo would have thought the BB right near HMX would have a crappy stock? Eh, it isn't the busiest BB I guess, I will just have to show up early, not like they expect any lines.. he pretty much said if I am there when they open I should be fine.

So, anyone else have their numbers?

My local Best Buy has 30 360 copies and probably a lot less PS3 copies although I didn't ask. They also warned me that I should come early to line up. They aren't doing a midnight release.

The Gamestops around me don't have any copies for those that have not put in a pre-order.

Good thing my Amazon order came through, I'll still be playing Rock Band tomorrow!

I would like to point out, I am getting 2 copies.. or I might be. I ordered one off newegg, and if they ship it tomorrow then I will sell it. If it doesn't ship by Wednesday, then I am just gonna cancel the order.

I hope to get to and sell one for like $300-400 on Ebay for some hungry Rock Band freak!


Anyhow, back on topic. I thought this one would have atleast 20.. I mean it is a pretty decent sized Best Buy. 2 Floors. Not the biggest I been to, but a good size.

Then again there are about... 7 BB near where I work.. so I could have my pick, but this one is def the closest!

LOL, My local GameCrazy has told me twice today that the game was pushed back to the 23rd. WTF!!! They even said GameStop will not be selling until Friday. This may be my last preorder from them!

On saturday I saw aprox. 50 bundles with my own eyes, there were likely more that I simply could see that might have been right next to the tower I saw, also I didn't see any PS3 bundles just 360 ones.

The guy at my GameStop told me they were only getting like 15 copies in total. Due to a lack in preorders they're just not going to be getting that many...

I went to Game Stop again today to check on my pre-order to make sure everything was like it's supposed to be. I asked (for the third time) if they were doing a midnight release. They said no because they're only getting 8 copies. He said they only ordered 6, but they got two extra. He didn't specify how many were for each system, he just gave the total.

i will be there at 10 ish anyways. gotta prep for the worst

it should definitely include them.. i forgot to specify if it was bundles.. but it is west LA.. they do these things pretty much like clockwork here and im not sure if they wanna disappoint..

The closest game stores are 30-45 min and I usually preorder there and then try to snag at Walmart before making a drive. So I tried the same thing tonight, was there at 11:30, 4 maybe 5 people there waiting in electronics and at 12:10 I find out there are ZERO 360 bundles. WTF>........ There were 6-10 Ps3 bundles. at least your walmart had some, it seems like all the walmarts in west orlando (including ocoee/winter garden) didnt receive ANY RB copies (nor bundles) due to a shipping error. i even called a couple in north orlando to see if they had any, and one guy knew nothing about it, and the other said they didnt have any either.

i got a raincheck, they're supposed to call me tomarrow when they get the shipment.

guess i'll try toys r us, sams, sears, target and/or gamestop (year right) on the way to work tomorrow

Wal-Marts usually demand the companies provide them with a vastly lower wholesale price in order to be stocked, which usually leads to manufacturers giving Wal-Mart crippled versions of the product (such as the GHIII coming with GHI guitars instead fiasco last month - you'll also notice a lot of HDTVs with missing inputs in the back and other stuff like that). I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if the Wal-Mart 'manufacturing' error was that they were getting preproduction peripherals for the 360 to meet their price point requirement.

There's a million reasons not to shop at Wal-Mart, that's just one...

I called my walmarts and 3 out of the 4 are holding it until friday. the other one may do a 12oclock release, but it just depends on the stock people when they bring it to the floor.

well, the guy from walmart called about an hour after i got my raincheck..

"hey dude, its in stock, just came in"

he probably meant to say "hey, its been here, i just found it in the back"

but anyway, that was cool of him, just picked it up, and updated the game.. now have to update the ps3, seems sony's servers are getting hammered, 15 min now downloading and its only at 3%...

one other thing i noticed.. i did get any batteries for my guitar in the bundle.. not a biggie but just something to note for others, make sure you have some extra (3) AA batteries laying around, snag them from a remote, or another guitar, or whatever.

They had 8 for 360 and 12 for PS3, only about 4 in line to get the game. Was pleasant

I'm kinnda freaked out I didn't pre-order and I'm praying I get a copy at my local BB. Its actully for my hubbys birthday. So I'll be standing outside before doors open in just a few hours. Reading some of these posts got me alittle freaked out and worried my store wont have enought copies. I'm going for the 360 Bundle. Doors open at 10am. I'm gonna be there by 8am. Wish me luck! :(

Good luck. I'm doing the same thing - I'm worried that the Best Buy here in town won't have enough, and I'm going for the 360 Bundle as well. I'm getting there just before doors open, because I need sleep. =) However, most people around here don't seem to know much about Rock Band...

It was pure luck .. I was waiting outside of Best Buy (no one was there) and decided to take a ride over to Walmart

They had 3 PS3 bundles and 1 XBOX 360 bundle .. I snagged the 360 bundle. Not sure if they had more out back, but if you're in the Brockton, MA area, there's a good chance you may be able to get a PS3 if you hurry.
