Good topic Julio, and good pick. I like that tune a lot.

As for me, there are many songs that can put me in a good mood. In most cases it'll be a song that takes me back to my youth and puts me in another place and time. Nostalgia y'know? But there are 3 songs in particular that I can turn to for a pick me up if needed. The band is Van Halen. You can not go wrong with Van Halen. The "six pack" is arguably one of the strongest and best strings of albums ever put out. And their music is just so damn happy and infectious. Any of these two will instantly put a smile on my face.

Secrets from Diver Down. Possibly the best melody they ever recorded and easily Dave's best vocal performance. Vastly under rated song.

In A Simple Rhyme from Women and Chidren First. Another under rated gem from the band. A good friend once proclaimed this as the perfect Van Halen song. It has a fast paced section , slower melodic section, the great background harmonies everything that makes Van Halen great. I'm still tempted to agree with him all these years later.

And not Van Halen but solo David Lee Roth. Damn Good from Skyscraper. Makes me think back on a lot of good memories and old friends lost to time.

Locksley-Don't Make Me Wait

One of the more recent songs that have made my list. The overall feel of the song just makes me feel happy.

Rush-Panacea(From the the epic The Fountain of Lamneth).

My favorite bit of the song, like I commented a few days. The lyrics "Panacea, liquid grace..." is just something that makes me feel good no matter what happen. Even when the power when out for about 4 days it gave me the happiness I needed. This song will always keep a special place in my memory.

Helloween-Halloween

Another song that me feel happy, a lot of power metal is good for this. It's a fun song and I enjoy singing the chorus for no particular reason anywhere.

Good tune. I hadn't heard it before RB2 but instantly liked it. Neat little uptempo ditty. One of my new favorite songs to drum to.

Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles. How can that song do anything but make you feel happy?

For some reason, "Eminence Front" by The Who. I find the song very relaxing, and therefore I'm happy listening to the song.

but for some reason its just been providing the perfect soundtrack for me at college.
its best to not watch the video tho just put it on really loud. its good atmospheric music to put on when your just walking around a crowed place

if the song in question doesnt give me some kind of plus (i.e. doesnt energize me, doesnt relieve stress, doesnt give a good mental image, doesnt have a soul to it) I wont listen to it.

that said, there's a few sons that whenever I hear, just make me go "yeah, thats it"

Riding With The King. just something about it. the ability to sing about all your life, all the ups and downs, and to be happy about it all. something I would love to feel when I get to be as old as those two.

All In the Name of (Rock'n'Roll). Like em or hate em, these guys had the energy and the stones to play some of the best sleaze-rock we've ever seen. The energy in this song in particular grabs me really easy.

Today- Smashing Pumpkins. It's such an upbeat, happy song. I mean, the only lyrics I understand are "today is the greatest day I have ever known", but I'm sure the rest are just as happy :)

More Than a Feeling - Boston
Listening to this helps me get over most things, unless it's really serious.
I like how upbeat the lyrics sound and how the guitar sounds.

Good pick from the Crue. Nice to see an album cut get mentioned over a single. The boys really need to blow the cobwebs off this one and bring it back tot he live set IMO.

And on another note I'm not sure they would get away that opneing lyric "She's only 15 and she's the reason I can't sleep" if that song were written now.:D

I'm always putting different songs on mixed c.d.'s just to listen to 'em in the car or around the house. Here's a few that usually find their way onto one.

"Shake A Tailfeather" by The Blues Brothers & Ray Charles

"Dangerous" by The Doobie Brothers

Okay, I'm joking. Not a huge Deicide fan here.

But, really, metal does make me feel happy. Some of my favorites:

Atheist - "Mother Man"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utqWrkVEQvI

Yob - "Grasping Air" (can't find a studio version)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w0ypEIhOVc

Electric Wizard - "Funeralopolis" (every emotion possible is bottled up in this song)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO7VP34n2Ps

Sleep - "Dragonaut"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj9IAvv32wE

Now, those songs make me feel happy. However, if you're looking for cheery songs that make me happy, here's the one that ALWAYS gets me (and there's quite a happy video, as well!):

That song always has a spot in my heart.

The ironic thing is that Today is actually about suicide and depression. The song definately sounds happy at face value, though.

As for my favorite "happy" song, that would go to The Cure's Close to Me. Beautiful tune, especially when the horns join together during the outro.

This song makes me smile, My kids and I always sing it when we hear it. My son's name is Julian and I always change the lyric to "Me and Julian". TMI I'm sure.

I really love Panama by Van Halen. It's an essential party song. It'd be a great pick for the Rock Band DLC.
