Dude, how does someone your age possibly know who Minor Threat is? A very straight edge "real" punk band from the EARLY 80's. 1980-83 to be exact. That's awesome and so was the band and music.

Believe it or not, many people have parents...
Maybe they introduced the band to him.

My dad introduced me to Rush, and I'm a big fan of them now, despite the fact that they emerged in the mid-70's (them still being around had nothing to do with it). So there IS a possibility that he was introduced to them by someone who listened to them when they were around (Parent or not).

that probably beats the distro catalogs my nephew's cat crapped on that i had to use to find out about punk and hardcore when i was your age. :)
