Production for the first 8 episodes is almost finished and I think that's where they are stopping for now because of the strike. The people working on the show are really unhappy of how the first 8 episodes ends because they compared the ending of episode 8 to being as much of a cliffhanger as Ana Lucia and Libby getting shot in episode 20 of Season 2. They were saying how unhappy the fans will be with having to wait for a resolution to that cliffhanger for months.
