Wants my band, but they seem like a SCAM! Do any of you guys know about them?

well it all depends, if they want money from him then it is most likely a scam,
seeing as my friend's band fell for this once and they sent the company 2,000
dollars, and they never heard from them again....(the company, not the band lol)

but yeah if they don't want money, or anything material in that sense, then go for it i guess...

As an attorney, whose profession is one of the most reviled of all chosen professions, I had to chuckle at the balance sheet. Aside from the agent, the attorney made out worse than anyone the band paid money to.

It all comes down to the terms of the agreement. And the article is correct. The record company is in the position of strength. They have what the band wants (a record deal), and there are hundreds of bands desperate enough or ignorant enough (or both) to sign whatever contract the record company puts in front of them. If a band says "yeah, we need to think about it", they just move on to the next band.

But as to the OP, if this company is asking for money up front before even doing anything or even promising anything, it's most likely a scam. Or, at best, a bad deal.
