I desperately need an electronic drumset (for noise issues) and MUST buy one soon (tomorrow). I saved up some money, but I know Rolands aren't cheap.
I'm deciding between TD9SX or TD12S but if I go and get the TD9SX I might as well shell out an extra $300 bucks for a better module.
Are the mesh toms worth it? I've played both rubber and mesh pads but only for a short period of time.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance.

I have the TD-20 and TD-9sx set with 2 extra cymbols and mesh kick pad. I love them both though I'm mainly a guitar player. I would get the mesh heads which are tension adjustable heads. They are also more quieter then the rubber pads. I just got the TD-20 in and haven't unboxed it yet so i can only point to harmony central reviews. The TD-9 is a great kit!

Also the user interface on the 9 is 10x more user friendly.. soo easy yo navigate with large Icon based settings. For instance you want to put a strip of tape on bass head, it shows you graphically, 2 tapes, pillow, etc..
Most intuitive interface i've seen in a module.

If i remember correctly the 12 is a bit older. Also your going to need a High hat stand. 12 has more to tweak. I have the TD-20 and its really good for getting into the brain etc. These are just quiet solutions for my acoustic sets.
