Just picked it up at the local 24 Hr. Walmart. Son's Christmas present. His birthday is Nov. 30th, but I can't give it to him then. I tried that route, but the wife ain't buying it.
I just keep thinking how cool Christmas morning's gonna be, the whole family jammin' out .
Only problem is I'm sitting right next to it. It's staring me down. So I decided to hide it from myself. Now I'm getting' the shakes!
PLEASE! JUST ONE FIX!?

Strong for tonight. What about the next day, and they day after that, and ...
Let's start a "Rockband Anonymous" group, RA for short. Let the parent's support each other in this time of need. Actually, I think I'll start that thread now. LOL!
I swear I'll only play it one time. I swear.

I'm on the same boat as you. I am 15 though. I bought Rock Band with my own money but my parents are forcing me to wait til Christmas. I have to be strong through this time because I will have the game in my house and I cant play it!!!!!!!!!!

Hold the phone. You paid for it with your own money? I'd stage a coup. REVOLUTION!
Now on the other hand, I paid for it, the present is for him, therefor, no RB until Christmas. The only one that hurts is me. :D

Yeah that's nuts, I agree! That's grounds for emancipation right there, call an attorney!

That is complete and utter BULL. If you bought it with your own money you deserve it now. Your parents are being unreasonable and lazy if they are trying to pawn off something you bought as a holiday gift from them. If you cant talk some sense into them get an arbiter on your side. Like a grandparent or someone else whose opinion they value. I would be FURIOUS if I was in your position, not just because of the implications (not getting rock band for over a month) but also because of the fact that it is just plain wrong of them to do something like that with your own purchase. Most parents should be happy that someone your age is learning how to earn things that are valuable to them.

Keep the faith bro, you'll be a better man for it. I'm in the slightly smaller boat, since I picked up the bundle but, don't have the system to play it on yet. I only have to wait until Friday, but man, I'll be walking three days in your shoes.
And I hear cold showers help ;)

Have you tried the "The Hardware is buggy, and there is only a 60(?) day warranty on the hardware" route?
If you had bought it at a gamestop, I'd be worried they would only honor the 30 days in store swap from date of purchase.. Wal-mart on the other hand will probably honor it as a Christmas sale, so you'd be ok there.
