View Full Version : 360 Rock Band inside of PS3 package

This is one for the books. Check this out, I went to Wal-Mart to buy the long awaited bundle of Rock Band for PS3. Actually, I had no problems getting one. Anyways, I get home and tear it open and what do I see.......XBOX 360 game and accessories, I about ****! I wasn't so upset, actually I was kinda chuckling.

I guess i'm posting this to warn people to check the contents before leaving the store. I took mine back and got the bundle I wanted, but it definitely took up time that I could have had playing but nevertheless, It is very fun to play.

This game is published by MTV, just an FYI. EA is only the distributor. Not sure why everyone thinkgs this is an EA game. It really is not.

Yeah it's in there!! didn't think it would actually really happen. :D I hope this the only one we get to see, there's some pretty awful stuff in that thread....:p

I had the same issue. PS3 pre-order from Gamestop (one of only two PS3 pre-orders at this store) - West Des Moines, Iowa.

I got so excited to play even 35 minutes over my lunch hour after picking it up that I didn't even notice the game (the actual game in the box inside) was in the green packaging. The first thing that caught my eye was the writing on the inner packaging for the guitar - just that it mentioned "wired controller." Again, I didn't initially process the "XBox 360" part at the beginning of the statement - I was actually angry that they'd shipped the PS3 wired.

Then my brain slowed down and started processing it. I double-checked the guitar just to be sure and it had the XBox button on it.

Called Gamestop, worried I'd be stuck, and it looks like there's one across town at another Gamestop I'll be able to exchange after work.

I posted a similar thread over on GameSpot forums under a different user ID - and suggested the same as was noted above: Maybe with the Les Paul controller issues, this is a sign I should just go with the XBox version (I have both systems). :)

same thing here this blows. everywhere in my town is sold out so ea is shiping me a new ps3 one.

you probaly went through the same thing as me. i was so excited, then i open the box and i was like what?? then i decided maybe its just the wrong box for the guitar but nope. it was heartbreaking. If you cant get a ps3 one locally call EA..
