I will summarize...

- My 360 RROD last week and is currently being RMA'd
- I have borrowed a friend's 360 in which I removed his hard disk and installed mine.
- I can play RB1 and everything works great. The DLC songs show in the list and I can play any of the songs.
- I can play RB2 however none of my DLC songs appear in RB2.

Does anyone know what is going on? Is it a license issue with my hard disk on another 360 machine? Is there something you have to do to get you DLC songs in RB2?

Appreciate any valid responses. Thanks.

Just curious, are you logged into Xbox Live under the gamertag that originally purchased the songs when playing both games?

you didnt read his post correctly. his xbox is RMA'ed he's on his friends console. and if its his original console he doesn't need to be connected on XBL

answer to topic: you need to be logged into XBL in order to play your dlcs

That's the second time today you've stated unequivocally that I didn't read something correctly. I assure you that my reading comprehension is generally excellent. I asked one question, because -- wait for it -- I wanted to know what the answer was. The answer is clearly not in the original post.

I'm simply trying to understand the DLC problems people are having a) out of professional curiosity, as I am a software engineer myself and b) to prevent these problems from affecting myself and my friends in the future. The OP seems to have an excellent test case because he or she essentially did two trials on the same equipment in a short time frame, changing only one variable (which disc was being played, RB or RB2), and got two very different results (all DLC worked vs. no DLC worked). That is extremely useful information when trying to understand a bug. I would merely like to confirm that this one particular variable (being logged into XBL with the same gamertag) did in fact not change between the two trials.

Thanks for the responses. The answer your questions...

Q: Are you logged into Xbox Live under the gamer tag that originally purchased the songs when played under both games.
A: Yes. I am currently under the same gamertag. I actually only have one gamer tag on the console.

One thing to note, I did not plug in my wireless network adapter so I am playing offline. If Aznman08 is correct, once my wireless adapter is plugged back in and I am back XBL, things should work correctly. I will try this once I get home tonight. Thx for your answer. I hope it works.

ProfStevie. Thanks for your response too. It is very strange how RB1 DLC will play and not in RB2. Perhaps connecting to XBL will resolve the issues for I havn't played RB2 connected to XBL for my 360 RROD before I purchased the game.

Thanks again for everyone's time.

Cool, let us know. I hope it works for you too.

I'm frankly surprised that the DLC worked in RB1 if you weren't online. The reason this issue interests me so much, among other things, is that my friends and I use our hard drives on other people's consoles all the time. It has always been my experience with RB1 that my DLC definitely *doesn't* work on another person's console if it's not online. So....huh. Weird.

which is why when you go to your friends house to play RB1 that you bring your entire xbox and not just your hard drive

Update.

As aznman08 suggested, I logged into XBL and all my DLC was present for RB2. Problem has been resolved. Thank-you again for the suggestion.

Cheers!
