View Full Version : Some 360 device-compatibility questions

Well, it's Rock Band release day, and I just found out I've gotta make an extra rent payment due to an accounting error. This means I can't afford the Rock Band bundle until probably January or February next year, so I'm thinking of buying the standalone game to make due with just guitar/bass/vocals. My questions are these:

1) Is the Xbox 360 headset compatible with the game? If so, has anyone actually tried it? How well does it work? Is it possible to plug it into one of the Guitar Hero controllers if I want to play guitar and sing or is a seperate, normal controller required?
2) I know both versions of 360 Guitar Hero controllers are supposed to work with the game, but once again, does anyone have any experience with this? I've heard of some problems from people trying to get it to work.
3) How is Band World Tour mode without the full four players? Would the lack of a drummer remove gameplay elements or can I enjoyably play with friends and let the game do the drumming for me until I can afford a bundle/seperate drums?
4) I know they've been announced, but when will seperate peripherals come out, and what is their estimated cost? I know I'll need the drums as soon as possible, and I'll probably upgrade the rest of my gear to full Rock Band specs when I get the money.

Thanks for your help! I'd really like to experience at least 3/4ths of this game on launch, even if it means paying a little extra later! Hope you lucky launch guys are enjoying the game, and if my existing peripherals work out maybe I'll see y'all online soon :)

2. I think the problems were just for PS3.

3. All the previews said the AI fills in. Don't know if they're actually good or whatever though.

4. Guitar $80 ($60 on PS3),Drums $80,Mic $30

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I just recently read that the 360 headset works too, so I'll pick up the standalone and at least be able to play most of the game until the separate drums are released. The extra $$$ will be worth the playtime. I can understand why they're waiting to release them, but I hope they announce a date sooner rather than later!

(P.S. Is your name an Earthbound reference by any chance? Or did you just like the way "Starman" looked?)
