I'd like a pure opinion or two as to what you guys think about this list of songs that I think the 20 Free DLC songs should consist of. Positive and Negative criticism is clearly welcomed.
1. Dreaming of You - The Coral
2. Keep Away - Godsmack
3. Holding the Pilots/Holding the Facts - The Foundry Field Recordings
4. The Great Escape (Live in the U.K. 2008 Edition) - We Are Scientists
5. Maybe Someday - The Cinematics
6. HRH (Her Royal Highness) - The Small Hours
7. Walk - Pantera
8. What it Feels Like to be a Ghost - Taking Back Sunday
9. Work, Work, Work (Pub, Club, Sleep) - The Rakes
10. Love is What I Got - Sublime
11. The Midnight Choir - The Thrills
12. Counting 5-4-3-2-1 - Thursday
13. Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine - The White Stripes
14. Let's Dance to Joy Division - The Wombats
15. Way Away - Yellowcard
16. Same Direction - Hoobastank
17. Superman - Lazlo Bane
18. Flathead - The Fratellis
19. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles feat. Eric Clapton
20. The Town That you Live In - Sherwood
Tried to pick songs that would be fun to play by bands that aren't in Rock Band at all. So, what do you guys think?

Heh, thanks for the criticism. I can see how you'd think it would disappointing, I just think they need to give some lesser known bands get some recognition, and nothing better than slipping them in with bigger bands in order to get some interested in them.

About half of the list you made is well known bands
Thats not whats dissapointing about it whats dissapointing is that theres like no metal in it and that out of 17 I only like 3 of the things listed and love 0 of them
So I think that would be lame lol
And that Taking back sunday song is actually rumored to be one of the real free songs

Once I check out a few of the bands I hadn't heard of, I'll give you a good answer.
For the moment, I know you've got some good stuff in there, like Flathead.

Heh, well then, at least I might be partially correct with some of the songs. And yeah, I realized that it's about a 50/50 split between Well Established and Not So Well Established Bands. Some of them haven't really made any progress here in the U.S. yet, so I thought this would be a good way to get them a little more known. I can also see why you didn't like the fact that there wasn't any metal in the list. The way I see it is, Metal will make it's way into Rock Band, hands down, but this would be a perfect opportunity to try some new stuff, to expand the sub genres of rock in the current library to styles not yet scene and/or acknowledged.
But, I can't really respond to the fact that you don't like the majority of the ones you heard on here besides "Thanks for the input," heh.

Mmk, thanks bud. I'll be anticipating the answer.

I would get them, seeing as how they're free, but I wouldn't be hooping for joy for any of them.

The songs you chose aren't exactly well known songs. If you would take all the same bands and find their most popular songs, I think your list would work much better. Popular songs sell much better (this is for free, so I should say "download" much better) than less known songs.

That actually came to mind while creating this list. The only problem was, most (obviously, though, not all) popular songs are simplistic at best in terms of difficulty, and sometimes simplicity takes away the fun. I thought about having songs that really sort of work with the game, but at the same time, define the band's style of playing.

Thanks bud. Glad to see you enjoy the songs. It took me quite a bit of time to come up with the list, seeing as the thinking process took up a majority of the time, heh. For the songs you didn't enjoy, or could take or leave, I'm interested in hearing what you would rather have in their place.

All I hope for is that the 20 tunes aren't from the cast of Harmonix bands that populated the err...."bonus" tracks in RB1.
I liked Anarchy Club and Crooked X, and Freezepop. Bang Camaro is growing on me. But so many of those other songs were outright trash. (Honest Bob and the Factory to Dealer Incentives didn't make the jump from RB1 to RB2 when I exported, I can assure you.) Granted, only a couple of the songs were truly AWFUL, but most weren't that great either. I'm hoping at least some of the 20 songs are by real (read as: well known)
bands, and of those major bands, at least half of the songs are well known. (Read as: Got some radio/MTV airplay for more than a week.) That's all I'm hoping for.
I can't really complain; the tracks are free. I would just hope that Harmonix bucks the trend corporations have of promising something free that turns out to really be more of a disappointment.

Not too big on most of the songs listed, about 5 or 6 I'd pay for, but I'll download basically any free song if it isn't as awful as Visions.

you need to add a Clash song on there, they have been requested quite a bit but we haven't gotten anything since Train In Vain. Or if you don't want to add the Clash, you need to include some form of punk (Ramones, Sex Pistols, DKs)
