Hey all maybe I'm just dumb and i'm doing something wrong.

Just brought my RB home and hooked everything up and nothing works.

setup the usb hub and plugged in my GH guitar and the RB guitar and drums and mic. No lights. I unplug things and replug and get nothing.

Anyone have a fix?

**edit** if I just plug in the guitar and drums directly into the 360 it works. The hub doesn't :(

did you plug the hub's wall outlet in?

I don't wanna sound mean, but that would be hilarious if that's all it was.
But yea, the hub has to plugged into the wall with the AC adapter to it. Then plug it into your console, then plug in the instruments.

Probably best to keep it in a certain order, but it probably doesn't matter either idk.

Quick fix would be to buy a new cheap hub at your local Wal-Mart, Computer Store, or Radio Shack. Any USB hub should work.

I did plug it in the wall. (don't worry I would have recommended that to someone else) you just never know.

I am going to go purchase a cheap hub and see if that fixes it.

Do you have the HD-DVD add-on? I'm planning on using that as my hub.

is the hub plugged into the back of the 360?

I think I remember trying to plug in my hd-dvd player into the front USB slot and it didn't work. I switched to the back USB slot and presto! Everything worked perfectly

How are gameshops handling harware returns? are we going to have to return the whole bundle for a bad hub? and maybe get a bad guitar? and return the bundle again until we get a bundle where everything works 100%?

How are they handling returns for Christmas presents? Most merchants start the return clock Christmas day for sales in late Nov. and December.. Do Gameshops dare do this?

You CANNOT return the bundle to the retailer you got it from, You must go through the distributor, EA.

I'll try it in the back and see what happens. When I have it in the front the little green light comes on but none of th3e controllers work.

Have you tried plugging anything in directly to the console? See if it's the instruments or the hub.

It's not really a troubleshooting guide per say...My guitar doesn't work at all and their only suggestion was to plug it into the console. That didn't work so they are sending a replacement.

Well, you got better results than *****ing on the forums, so I'd say it's a better solution.

Not that I know of. The 360 usually tells me when there is a patch and downloads it, but it didn't say anything. Also, my guitar did work intermittently, but long story short something is definitely wrong with it.

Yep, since I'm guessing HMXJohnLock doesn't want to drive the 2 hours to my apartment from Cambridge with a new guitar, I figured using the support page would be a better idea.

Even Walmart? They take anything back. They may have some shady business practices, but one thing they are good about is not making the customer deal with faulty merchandise.

LMAO Dude... sorry that's just funny to me...

"Hello, EA support how can I help you?"

yah just try that ea support page. It really helped me out.....(sarcasm)

They hung up on me twice.

Then when I finally went to tech support the automated teller asked me what game. I said rockband fifty times and a few times in 8 different languages. Then they told me to call back during business hours LOL

OMG QFT! When I was younger. *About 12 or so. I had to plug in the Satelite to our tv after a move. It didn't work. I called tech support and they asked if I plugged it in and lo and behold, I didn't. Dumbass me. HEH!

Since your game obviously works right now, you might try waiting until the support line gets through dealing with guitar and drum issues. You'll probably have better luck.

Yea so i got mine last night and the same thing. I can plug the guitar and drum set in by

themselves but when I plug in the hub it lights up but nothing works. "And i pluged it in".

So i guess ill have to try and buy a cheap hub, but if that works im still going ot take my

bundle back to wal-mart for an exchange.

Wasn't there a big pink piece of paper telling you NOT to take the bundle back for a defective part? Just go to the EA support page and they will replace the hub, and you can continue rocking with the rest of your working equipment.

The HUB lights up if you plug it into the 360. BUT, you need to plug the AC adapter into the wall to get the Hub powered to recognize the instruments plugged into it. Sorry to seem like that guy, but did you plug it into the wall outlet?

You CANNOT return the bundle to the retailer you got it from, You must go through the distributor, EA.

I seriously doubt it. EA would like you to go through them, so they don't get dinged by merchants and have more control over their warranty process.

But I've never seen a Walmart not take something back. As long as the retailer has some in stock, why hassle with EA customer service and wait for a refurbished replacement?
