Lack of representation on the Wii

Why was this game not released on the Wii at the same time as the other next gen consoles. As an owner of the number one selling console in the world I do not feel the need to purchase a whole new system to play a game that is supported on 2 out of 3 of the next gen consoles. I guess Harmonix does not want a piece of the 16 Million Wii consoles. At this point you would need to announce some serious exclusives for the Wii for me to pick up the game. Not to mention the onley thing that has ever been said about a Wii version is the word "we are definitely going to support the Wii". There has not been any other mention of it like when it might possibly be released or information that it is even in development.

This sentiment is felt among a lot of the Wii community and many of them have one of the other systems. The decision to treat Wii owners as sloppy seconds is going to resonate in the sales of Rock Band system if it ever does come to the Wii.

That is why the Wii caught the 360 in less then a year and passed it even with Halo3 being released just a month ago. And a PS on that the 360 had almost two years to get to where the Wii got in 1 year. I am not wanting to make this about the consoles but if you want to it is a loosing battle for you.

Well that's what Nintendo gets for creating such a shoddy online structure. How's the Wii suppose to get DLCs (which is suppose to be one of the biggest selling points of Rock Band)? It makes sense for 'em to wait until this "Wiiware" thing comes out and see how that'll work instead of blindly releasing it for the Wii then having all the Wii customers ***** about how the Wii's a next gen console too and shouldn't get shafted like the PS2.

WOW....i really dont care about system wars but here we go...

Wii is winning cause it is cheap...you can tell by its games but graphics arent everything......Wii is a good system tho

PS3 to me is not doing very hot cause of its hefty price tag and its very bad selection of games

360 is the system i own and the only one i plan to own.....has great online service and very wide selection of games

Between the Wii and the Xbox 360... no comparison. I don't care which one has sold more. The wii stays in my 9 year old's bedroom... my 3 year old enjoys it as well.
I have piscked up that Wii and played somethiong once... MAYBE twice.

I can't recall ever once having an "urge" to go in there and play anyhting on the wii.
My kids like it though.

I have heard this one to many times. Medal Of Honor Heroes 2 proves that the Wii can support other systems then just friend codes. As far as Wii Ware the information is already out there and a bunch of companies that are already developing for it so that still does not explain why no announcements have been made concerning a Wii version.

I would have to concede that there is no online voice but personally I do not need it and I don’t think RB is using it anyway.

I am not saying the Game should be released on only the Wii I am saying the numbers show that GHIII is selling respectably on the Wii. The previous statement was that people who own the Wii do not play games like Rock Band. The numbers prove differently.

I have to say that I bought a Wii for my children last year and played it some myself. However, I got tired of waiting for online multiplayer...EVEN WHEN I bought Ultimate Alliance and it said it was supported.....So...I went out and bought a MANS system...XBox360 and have been fragging people online ever since. I only notice the Wii when the blue light is flashing now....

You do realize that GH and RB are casual games too, right? I wouldn't put them in the same league as games like Bioshock and Halo.

The Wii is capable of beautiful graphics. They may not be HD, but not everything has to be to look good, especially when there are still a lot of people who don't even have a HD TV yet. Not to mention that GH/RB isn't about graphics anyway, as long as the circles/rectangles coming down the fretboard look good and come at a decent rate, everything else is icing.

And you can get grownup games for it too (Residen Evil 4, Manhunt2).

Anyway...

I imagine that RB didn't come out for the Wii because HMX is going to have enough problems keeping up with demand for peripherals for 360, PS3 and PS2. The PS2 has a large enough existing fanbase that it was smart not to ignore it. Plus the instruments are somewhat compatible between PS2 and PS3. The controller for Wii will be very different (a la GHIII... there is an advantage to having a hardware company -- RO -- involved with GHIII as opposed to HMX which is making hardware because they have to). The online hasn't been figured out for Wii yet (as others have said).

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii version comes some time next year. GHIII is selling well for it.

I own what I affectionately call my Wii60. I love both systems.

How can you say the graphics on the Wii are shoddy? I have never had one problem with my Wii. But If I want to get online and play against some fewls that want to be booty raped at Halo 3 or GOW Im playing my 360.


I will not buy a Ps3 because of the crap games that they have for it. Why buy a 400 dollar system and have NOTHING to play on it?
