I'd like to add a question. Like you can with a 360 headset, can you use a bluetooth headset for singing with the PS3?

How do you like the game?

How are the peripherals working?

Drums and Mic are awesome, guitar won't do downstrokes and loses communication with dongle.

Does the PS3 Les Paul (GH3) Guitar Work?

NO!

Is there DLC Available?

Not yet.....

Was there a PS3 (Rockband) Patch?

Yes, but it did nothing for my guitar. Still no downstrokes.

Can You Use A Bluetooth HeadSet For The Mic?

No idea...

Another VERY IMPORTANT question:

Can a PS2-to-PS3 adapter be used to allow a PS2 guitar to be used as a bass guitar in RB?

How do you like the game? ---So far I love it

How are the peripherals working? ---So far so good, mostly playing the drums right now tho...

Does the PS3 Les Paul (GH3) Guitar Work? ---Takes some getting used to all around (button feel, strumbar is a lot different)

Is there DLC Available? ---Not as of 6:30am Pacific

Was there a PS3 (Rockband) Patch? ---Yeah, installed as soon as the game started up, not to mention sony just released version 2.01 system update, so a lot to DL if you haven't yet...

Can You Use A Bluetooth HeadSet For The Mic? Unknown, I don't have one

How is online Play (better than GH3) - Does it work? ---Haven't tried yet... been playing BWT with my cousin ;)

Can a PS2-to-PS3 adapter be used to allow a PS2 guitar to be used as a bass guitar in RB? ---Nope... I have the Radio Shack adapter and it gets around the menus but doesn't work as a guitar (when you start a mode, it asked you to plug in the mic) A different post on these forums had a negative response to the Pelican Adapter as well... And the Les Paul's from GH3 don't work either... Sad, really...

Also, has anyone tried plugging in the Les Paul or PS2 Guitars after the game is already booted up?
With my TAC Flying Vs I had to do this for them to work with GHII. In GHII I couldn't plug them in until the animated sequence at the startup, after that they worked fine. But if I plugged them in before hand they would only be recognized as a controller.

OK here's some answers for you I hope this helps, I've been playing it since slightly after midnight, I own both ps3 and 360 versions.

How do you like the game? It's great, way better than guitar hero.
How are the peripherals working? Great no issue's with them at all.
Does the PS3 Les Paul (GH3) Guitar Work? Only to navigate the menus, it's basically useless.
Is there DLC Available? For the 360 yes, it was not up for ps3 as of 3am MST. I haven't checked since then.
Was there a PS3 (Rockband) Patch? No patch.
Can You Use A Bluetooth HeadSet For The Mic? Unsure I haven't tried.
How is online Play (better than GH3) - Does it work? Yes the online play works good and it's way better in my opinion than guitar hero.
Can a PS2-to-PS3 adapter be used to allow a PS2 guitar to be used as a bass guitar in RB? I have tried adapters they didn't work.

Since the GHIII controllers don't work, isn't this basically a three player game until they start selling individual perifs? (obviously not online)

Nope you can play 4 players you just have to buy 2 bundles, now ya's know how us 360 folks felt with GH2.

treyhutcheson...Yes you can send invites to friends within the game.

How's the lag, is it any thing like the problems with GH3, does it require messing about with the audio/video configuration or was it just fine out of the box ?

when I played in-store (360 version) my strums were dead on. no lag, no noticeable issue with timing, just pure faux rockin out. i got a 97% on Say It Ain't So on expert so they've got my vote. i hate the timing on GH3. That window is big enough a thief could break in. lol

DannyBoy

I have it for 360 too and its dead-on...but its also hardwired. I'd like to buy the game for PS3 instead (wireless controllers, a lot easier to move a PS3 to a friends house, etc) but I'm waiting to see if a patch comes out to make the les pauls compatible. IF not, I'll just stick with 360 then. I'd also like to know if theres any PS3 wireless lag.

i think thats awful.. the gh3 guitar doesnt work and id rather use it than the strato. It doesnt stroke right for me. Im very dissapointewd with this for the ps3. Im sure the xbox version is completely perfect. I hate that!!!!! Why would you ever buy this crap when they purposefully give us stuff that doesnt work right and now i have to buy another strato i dont like using so we can play as a full band! I hope there will be third party controllers that work better. But Im probably not gonna get it since they wont even work with the other game's guitar. Im gonna sell it back with my ps3 and get a 360 and its RB. Im tired of getting the shaft on games.

Getting back to the PS3 info theme of the thread -- and I know this is way down on the list of priorities for most people -- but I would like to know:

- Does the RB Strat work with GHI, GHII, or GH80's (the PS2 games) on the PS3?

Thanks!

I played GH3 on the PS3 and ended up returning it because of the lag. Couldn't get it to work properly.

No lag at all on RockBand. It plays like a wired SG on GH2.

I had a small problem at first, but after I told Rock band that I had a plasma screen, it was PERFECT.

So it's a little confusing though but setting up games with your friends can be done and it's fairly easy once you figure it out.

How do you like the game?GREAT.

How are the peripherals working? The guitar didn't want to work at first, but unplugging everything and plugging the guitar in first fixed that.

Then the mic didn't want to work and that didn't help, but exiting to XMB and restarting the game did. No problem with the drums at all.

I'm having the same problems as a lot of other people. Downstrumming will randomly decide not to register. I think it has something to do with the way the strum mechanism resets, because it NEVER registers when there's two or more really fast notes in a row. It seems like strumming near the edges of the bar rather than in the middle helps a bit, but it doesn't completely solder the problem.

Does the PS3 Les Paul (GH3) Guitar Work?I don't have GH3 for PS3, but I did try using the x-plorer and the Strat on GH2 and Rock the 80s. Neither worked, as expected.

Is there DLC Available? Not yet, but stuff usually goes up on the Store around 6pm EST; hopefully we won't have to wait until thursday.

Was there a PS3 (Rockband) Patch?Yes. 1.01

Can You Use A Bluetooth HeadSet For The Mic?Nope.

How is online Play (better than GH3) - Does it work? Works fine. I had no problems at all.

Can you setup a match with someone on your friends list?Sort of. You can invite people (which also sends them a message in the XMB), but unlike 360 they can't instantly go into the game. They have to load up rock band and select "view invites" from the main menu.

[quote]Can you actually send an invite in-game?[//quote]You send invites from the lobby.

Does the wireless guitar have a USB port so that we can make it wired if we get interference with the wireless?

No. And I have to type a few more words because a one word response, while completely effective at answering this question, is too short for this forum.

Well i'll keep this update - My Guitar is Fubared - I first started plying with drums - the guitar will not stay connected. It dies in the middle of a song.

Anyone else experiencing this? - I sent away for a replacement already.

Not yet, but stuff usually goes up on the Store around 6pm EST; hopefully we won't have to wait until thursday.

Keep in mind that this week the entire PSN update was moved forward to Tuesday from the usual Thursday slot. This isn't related to Rock Band directly, but rather because Thursday is Thanksgiving and I imagine Sony USA will have most of their staff out. So we either get the DLC today or I think we have to wait until next week. Here's the link (http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/11/16/next-weeks-psn-update-to-occur-on-tuesday/) for that information.

As far as the lag goes, I've also had a ton of trouble with GH3 and my Les Paul. But after running through the AV Lag screen in Rock Band the guitar is spot-on. Now I just need to get the drums going to see how bad the 100ms I had to use there affects the fills.

Welcome to the joy of wireless technology. If it's happening now, no replacement is gonna fix it. It's probably something causing interference.

1. I like it so much that I just stopped playing now for the first time since 2PM. It is seriously one of, if not, the most addicting games I have ever played. I've had so much fun, gone online, played solo, played as a band (drums/singing), got some DLC, and to top it off I've done all that with just the drums, I haven't even opened the guitar. To say that I will be busy for a LONG time is an understatement.

4. Yes there is DLC, I got the Metallica pack, 3s and 7s, My Sharona, and Roxanne.

7. Online is WAY better than GH3. I've done Tug-o-War, Duel, and played as a band.

Like I said in answer number 1 the game is beyond awesome. The only reason I stopped is the fact that my right foot is sore from the kick-pedal (have Blackened to thank).

All in all sweet game and hope to see some of you online.

ps. PSN - vicam1581, invite if you want to play, I mostly play drums but I do guitar also
