I've noticed for the past week, GameStop has yet to mention anything about Rock Band on their front page- Be that it's coming soon or anything. It wasn't even listed under the "Coming Soon" section of the front page. You had to go to the sub-pages(such as xbox 360) to see it in the "Coming Soon" section, and it STILL wasn't on the front page of the xbox 360 page. It's not even listed under the "Now Shipping" section now- It's virtually disappeared from any of the main or sub-pages, you have to search for it to find it.

Is the game THAT underhyped or is it something else? Guitar Hero 3 is plastered ALL over GameStop, and granted its a more recognizable title, it makes it seem as though GameStop has some reason not to promote it.

Kind of bizzare.

Either way, I can't wait to pick up my pre-order after work. :)

They probably aren't promoting it because it already sold out :p

Hardly so. Halo 3 was plastered all over it for weeks and the pre-sales were for the most part filled up, if not months beforehand(although, Halo 3 was a much larger-scale release).

This has been the case for at least 2 weeks now, that I can remember. It just kind of bugs me that it's not getting any front page time, heh.

I work at a EB Games and the sad truth to the matter is that Rock Band is in short supply. I'm not pulling some corporate bull**** with you, I'm saying this as a consumer, it's literally in short supply. The store I work at doesn't even have enough copies to cover all the pre-orders, nor do some of the other stores in the area, so there are going to be some pissed gamers unless they can nab the game at Best Buy, Wal-Mart or where ever. According to my boss, the reason you can't find Rock Band so easily on the site (both GameStop and EB, as well as all their sub-companies) is due to the fact they have no extras to ship ... Period! And to have it up where everyone can see only to go to the page and have no "buy now" button is pretty stupid.

One of the reasons for this is that unlike Halo 3 or even Guitar Hero, Rock Band is more product per box. Every store will have plenty of stand alone games, because those are quick and easy to mass produce, where the drums, guitar and mic, which can be produced fast at the expense of quality (if you so wish it), are not as easy as making, lets say, a million DVD disks and inserts, which you can spit out with ease with a lower failure rate ... unless your Halo 3 and make the scratched disk episode that was a living nightmare.

Of course, if you really wish to, you can call Devil's Advocate on this one and say that Harmonix and MTV are pulling the Nintendo card and creating a short supply to boost demand, just as RedOctane and Activision are currently doing with Guitar Hero III, but that's your choice if you wish to do so. Because regardless what anyone tells you, Nintendo is purposely trickling out systems and holding back ... at least as far as I can tell from what I have seen at work.

Interesting! Thanks for the info. I guess I better get out of work early to grab my pre-order, considering I paid-in-full before hand I certainly hope I can pick my copy up today.

They had about a month where you got extra preorder cash for trade-ins. Why would they advertise to people without pre-orders, when those people can't buy it at GS at release?
