View Full Version : Would DragonForce Even be Possible?

My question is this. Would putting any DragonForce at all on Rock Band be possible? As far as I know, I believe it would be. I have not heard of a contract limiting them only to Guitar Hero. Plus, I haven't heard of anyone saying we won't be getting them. I also heard, though, someone say that HMX hates DragonForce. Is any of this true or not?
I, for one, would love to see DragonForce. If they would be put on RB, I think the best thing HMX could do would be to take off bass guitar, and put a second lead/rhythm guitar.

Well, I don't know if I am speaking for anyone else, but I for one HATE DF.
Dream Theater is better.

I can't stand them myself. It brings this image to my mind:
Next on Fox Kidz, Power Rangers DRAGONFORCE!!!
I hope they're on Harmonix's hate list, but I'm evil like that.

1) They are on roadrunner records and we already had RR1. I think the chance is high that they are not exclusive but low that HMX would immediately pick them up.
2) Theres way better power metal out there, go get exposed. Ill start by recommending Blind Guardian.
3) I like Dragonforce. So **** you all.

That's great that these trolls here don't like dragonforce, but they don't need to spend their time bashing the fans when they could be listening to whatever they like.
Dragonforce is good, but through the fire and flames sucks. It is by far their worst song.
And besides, it would be impossible to play because of all the double bass.

I dont mind them. Its one of the few "metal" bands i can tolerate the singer of. That and i just like the sound. They arnt bad, not good, but i wouldnt care either way if they were in there or not
Wow people apparently cant even have an opinion anymore. The maturity in these forums is starting to drop below "Halo kid" level. And thats really saying something.

Not true. Battery has double bass, they just simplified it. Same with Visions.
Note: I do not like Visions, before some idiot flames me. :D
Drangonforce sucks beyond belief, but you know what? They're rediculous. Drums are fast, guitars all over the place, and vocals are just funny as hell. The truth it, they would be fun to play, plus it's DLC so only those that would enjoy this as I would have to deal with it. I pretty much play GH3 to play the four Dragonforce songs, they're all corny lyrics and pretty terrible sounding guitars, but god damn they are fun.

god damn they are fun.
But they're not though, that's the point. They're ridiculously difficult, which takes away from the enjoyment.
Making the game simple and having them not be difficult is what makes it boring. Look at why GH3 is such a piece of crap, the few Dragonforce songs are fun and their are a few others that are okay, but because the game requires very little accuracy to hit notes, it's not that good. Challenges are fun. Hell, Visions is a pretty lousy song, but I have a blast playing. It's fast and all over the place. A challenge.

Agreed the only songs I had trouble with on GH was the Metal songs. All the others were crap and way to easy. Plus, if you can't play it on expert move down a level. It's really not that hard of a concept.

GH was crap and way too easy
you don't have to thank me for fixing it.
If they did for some crazy reason put the song that Drgaonforce had in GH3 into RB it would be incredibly easier as we wouldn't be forced to multi-task switching back and forth from guitar to keyboard throughout the song.

But it isn't a challenge. It's just ridiculous.
The Dragonforce songs are novel for the first couple of times you play them.
After owning the game for a year, you find yourself repeatedly smashing your face into the desk as every single last noob online picks TTFAF.
They're NOT fun. In my oppinion, the least fun song on RB1 for guitar is Thrasher. This is because it's stupidly difficult to the point where it becomes irritating.
My favourite drum song is The Joker and the Thief, which I've FC'd. I obviously don't find it that difficult. My least favourite drum song is RttH.
Don't go saying 'The reason you find them crappy is because you suck', because I have platinum on guitar, vocals and drums, and I'm in the top 50 for PS3 guitar.
Difficult does NOT equal fun.

booo-urns...i love playing Thrasher. I can't seem to get to 5* though. I only get halfway between 4 and 5 stars.
That's a strong opinion you have, I can see what you mean by saying it can be irratating, but this truth is if we play songs like Say it Ain't So for everything, we get bored with the game and they only sort of songs that can be entertaining are songs we like, not that we enjoy playing.

Thrasher is really fun to play. So is Visions, Painkiller, Panic Attack. All really difficult (drums) but I dont ***** I just step down a level and play. Even on hard Visions, and Panic Attack are difficult for me. I still love it. Plus, if you didnt have your impossible songs what would you have to strive for.

I didn't say that Impossible songs cannot, under any circumstances, be fun. Songs like Blackened are among my favourite to play, and I think more songs of that level of difficulty should be released. What I don't think we should do is spam stupid, irritating, insanely difficult songs like Thrasher or TTFAF. I didn't say the songs themselves were bad (I love Thrasher. I hate DForce, but that's irrelevant). You're also exaggerating when you say that I'm suggesting we should have lots of songs like Say It Ain't So.
I think there is a very small place for impossibly difficult songs such as Thrasher, but it's more because of the novelty and for the very high end players, rather than the enjoyment of playing terrible.

Ok so Blackened is a really hard song to play I will give you that, But Thrasher if you practice is no harder than Blackened. I personally cant beat Blackened on X. I can however beat Thrasher on X. (both guitars, both on hard drums). Everything just takes practice, hell before I got tired of GH3 i got 85% of the way through TTFAF. BTW i am not the one who said anything about say it aint so.

Ask anyone in the top 100 guitarists, or anyone that knows anything about Rock Band in the slightest, tinyest bit, and they'll tell you Thrasher is leagues harder.
@Demonic: That may be so, but Thrasher is consistantly harder than Blackened. Blackened is TECHNIQUE, rather than shredding. I think that is what makes a song fun (technical difficulty rather that just mindless walls of notes).

Honestly, I would love to get a cheap/free track from DF. I wouldn't pay full price, because I think they're garbage.
However, it would be fun as hell to sing their generic, yet epic, lyrics.
"Dark of the night/
on the path to the future/
our fire rages bright/
we race through this torture
Whooooaaaaaooooaaaaooooooo"
(note: those aren't actual DF lyrics...well, as far as I know anyway.)

that's not the point. They're in the same difficult category. That's all that matters. The point is that you severely contradicted yourself in same paragraph.

just to clarify that's what you said.

exactly. Just because you can't beat them doesn't mean they're stupid or pointless to play. You just need to get better at the game i suppose

No, you're just stupid.
I said the same difficulty level. You inferred from it that I meant difficulty in terms of tiering. What I actually meant, as any person with a brain cell would have realised, was the ACTUAL difficulty. HMX can't tier at all, deal with it.

lol this post has fail all over it.
You're comeback is a ****ty as your apparent rockband/guitar hero skills
you need to clear something up; what is the ACTUAL difficulty then? Apparently you are more qualified than HMX is. You should apply for their job.

So you're suggesting that all the songs on Rock Band have been tiered correctly, so far?
I'm also going to link you to a video of my setlist, showing that I have Gold Starred every song on guitar.
Also, learn the different types of 'your', please.

woah the grammar police is here. Reverting to petty grammatical insults because you're too much of a simpleton to come up with an actual insult is ****ing pathetic. No one cares how big your e-peen is. And, i really should have realized you are the #1 authority on song tiering. I'm so sorry your highness.
