OK, so many of us have had trouble with playing the old Guitar Heroes on an HDTV. These games did have a calibration feature, but for many it still felt like something was off when the settings were calibrated, nothing was ever "perfect." Well damn Harmonix, I can't thank you people enough for the calibration system in Rock Band. Every single note I hit, guitar or drums, is spot-friggin'-on, and the same is for the other two guys that have been playing with me since midnight (we have yet to sleep).
Anyone else here overjoyed by this?

I was shocked that I could just tell it that I play on a DLP, and the offset it chose was perfect. I thought I'd have to tweak it, but nope!
Hats off Harmonix!

Niiiiice. Sounds awesome. I have a HD LCD TV and run my audio through a seperate amp and speaker system, so it's good to know it's working better than previous GH games.
Now i just gotta wait for my bundle to arrive in Australia and sent to my door where the awesomeness shall begin.

What?! A thread not complaining about something that's not working?! Inconceivable!!! :p

I agree, the calibration is good. The best way to test if your calibration is accurate is to go into the drum training mode when your tuning your instrument. If the notes sound at the same time as you hit them, then your calibrated good for all the instruments.

Mine was off just slightly at first. I then told the game I was playing on a plasma and now it plays perfectly.
GH3 never played accurately. I returned it.

Instead of doing the auto calibration by picking the TV you may want to do the manual calibration. It has two parts and it works really well - especially when you aren't using a television's onboard audio but instead going through a sound system.
