Where did you purchase your rock band bundle?

please give US State and which Store.

Maybe theres a trend...between either the store or location and "broken" guitars.

I say it with the " "" " because who knows, maybe theres a patch...

I bought mine at Best Buy in Atlanta, GA, and I can tell you right now that it is not a software issue. I opened my guitar up and discovered that the problem is hardware-related. When the strummer is pushed up (or down), not enough contact is made with a receiver in the guitar. It's hard to explain, but if you look, the problem is there. It is simple, and I'm surprised that it was overlooked.

Possible for a home-brew fix?

I think a more important piece of information is the date sticker on the bottom of the box. My Sept 27 bundle had a broken guitar (not strum bar...other issues) but my Oct 13 bundle's guitar has worked fine so far.

My guitar has worked flawlessly for about 2 hours, than I went to work. No one has touched it since. I texted my roomate - the date on the bottom is Oct 9.

I am terrified to play it. Its just so...perfect...and to think it may die...

It seems possible. I inserted a cushion between the strummer and the one that was already there, and it helped, but it ended up double strumming every time I down-strummed, so I don't know. I would just go to support.ea.com and order a replacement one. You deserve it after all.

I asked about this in another thread. From what a user said in a couple threads who opened his said that the strum bar just has pin contacts to complete a circuit rather than a full microswitch. I have a couple microswitches from my arcade machine at my disposal that if possible, id just wire those in place of the pin contacts. It will make the strum bar noisy but rock solid.

I still wont have my copy for a few hours cause of work, can anyone post a picture of the strum bar section so I can see how the contacts are set up?
