Nothing from The Joshua Tree or earlier, as that stuff is perhaps a bit too quiet and contemplative for a party game. Only exception I can think of is "I Will Follow".
Still, I'd welcome stuff like:
Vertigo
Beautiful Day
Elevation
Discotheque
The Fly
Mysterious Ways
I know they're not the hardest band in the world, and certainly not the youngest, but it's good stuff nonetheless.
Perhaps we'll see some U2 DLC, given Bono's connection with Elevation Partners and EA.

I'd love to see Wire from Unforgettable Fire.

I'd like to see a lot more than just those, but I doubt anything else would fit into the user experience that Harmonix has in mind.
Still, there's some stuff on Nevermind that definitely isn't conducive to a party atmosphere, so who knows?

I think U2 has some great party songs:
I Will Follow
Bullet the Blue Sky
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Pride
Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car

Don't get me wrong. U2 is my favorite band. I'd be in heaven if their whole catalogue was on RB.
But given the serious subject matter of SBS and Pride, I'm not sure I'd want to see it converted into a "game level", y'know?

Dunno, it could be awesome or it could suck. The only way to go would be to have the original tracks, not covers.
I agree though, they'd have to nail it perfectly or it would be awful.
Oh, U2 is also my favorite band :)

Yes, I agree that it's master tracks or nothing in this regard.
However, I guess my point was more about how converting those two songs might trivialize them somewhat. Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement? The Troubles of N. Ireland? I don't know if I need to see those converted into what is essentially a rhythm game for Xbox/PS3.

With or With Out You would be the perfect warm up song or closing song for a party session
Screw that, perfect song for anytime.

U2 is one of those "glaring omissions" from both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" would be great for the guitar, but the drums would be tricky off of the main track. Larry plays a lot of off-beats with his snare, and that could easily mess up novice RB Drummers. :)

No different than any politically-charged Rage Against The Machine tracks in the GH series. But I agree and see your point.

Yes, those too.
I was going to suggest "When Love Comes to Town" just for the picking, but that might be too bluesy for "Rock Band". Plus, even though I know the higher fret buttons are supposed to be for hammer-ons/pull-offs, can the song's bends and slides be properly adapted to the RB guitar?
I never had GH so I don't know how it may or may not have been done in the past.
