Drum/Guitar Headset Connector Problem

Recently, it seems as if BOTH of my original headset connectors have gone south. My headset works fine with any Xbox 360 controller, so I know it's not that. When I use the headset with the headset connector, each person with whom I'm playing online hears this horrible, loud static sound and I can't even communicate with him. Any ideas to stop this?

thats weird. a costly yet definite fix is to buy the wireless mic

Why would buying a wireless mic solve this? Wouldn't I still need to connect a part to the drum kit, therefore needing the headset connectors?

not with the wireless headset. (hence the word wireless) it connects like the regular xbox 360 controller without wires. the problem seems to be the connection that your mic is getting /feedback
