attaching head of guitar

my headstock is sticking out like a quarter inch still and wont go down any further
is there a way to put it in
or should it have slid down all the way on it's own?

I had a hard time with it, too. I just made sure everything was lined up properly, held on tight to the neck where the big fret keys are with my left had, and pushed very hard with my right.

It smapped in with a click. It is tougher to get on there than you think it would be.

Mine was also pretty tight and wouldn't go down all the way. I noticed that there are two screws behind the neck at the connection points, one of which was sticking out a couple millimetres so took my trusty phillps-head and tightened them both. Presto!

Yeah - mine had some plastic molding weirdness and wouldn't slide on either - I just opened it up and snapped it on separately, then rescrewed it together.
