I can't believe we haven't seen any of Al in any of the packs. Especially for Rock Band.
Has anyone been to a show? Everyone sings along. Even his originals are great.
I would like to see:
Yoda
Eat It
Albuquerque
Any of the Polka medleys
Oh, there's too many. It would be fun to have a song like "Lump" and Al's "Gump" in the same set list.
Al's band covers all parts of the parodied song perfectly, so any guitar magic would still be in there.
Let's get it done, HMXers.

Albuquerque is epic. When I went there all I could think of was that song.

Oh, MAN, would i love to have some Weird Al tunes...but I would think the licensing will be a nightmare. Wouldn't Harmonix have to go tothe original artist as well as Al himself?
So until the day Al officially comes to Rock Band, I will just continue to cut off the vocal track and sing Al's lyrics instead whenever I play a song he parodies.

How's about "White and Nerdy" and "You're pitiful" ?
That way we can keep out the crappy originals ;)

Well, about licensing, I'm not sure. Al didn't have to get the rights from the original artists, he would just ask as a courtesy because he didn't want any animosity between him and other artists.

I would love for some Weird Al.
Some songs from Bad Hair Day, Running With Scissors, or Dare to be Stiupid.
And all the ones you guys have mentioned.
That guy is amazing live.
Selbor speaks the truth. EVERYONE songs along, even to the originals, like 'It's all about the Pentiums'.
I don't think we could get his parodies, as mentioned before, but his originals would surely be awesome.
And Al's a really nice guy (I met him), so it shouldn't be too hard HMX >.o
He signed my sister's birth certificate (She was born in Albuquerque, NM, and she told him it was a copy xP)
So, C'mon HMX, let's see it happen =]

The Night Santa Went Crazy would be awesome.

Dare To Be Stupid And Hardware Store Would Be My Picks, Partly Cause Hardware Store's Vocals Are INSANE And Dare To Be Stupid Is Mimicing Devo. :P

Yes! awesome to get some good replies. I thought this thread might get ripped, but hell yes!
Al is indeed a nice man, I also have met him a couple of times.
The songs were done as works of parody/satire, so the recorded versions all belong to Al.
I suspect that some of the artists would go after some cash if they parodies were released, and why go through that hassle if you're Al? However, Harmonix/MTV can probably get things done.
What great suggestions! "The Night Santa Went Crazy" would make a great holiday pack release and "Dare to Be Stupid" is waaay better than the Devo songs already offered.
What about it, HMX? Can we get even a wee bit of encouragement on this one?

Smells Like Nirvana
Took the words right out of my mouth. That would really irritate the Nirvana fans. Not me though, and I like Nirvana. I found it to be one of the best spoofs I have ever seen, however goofy.

kurt cobain actually loved the parody. when weird al asked if he could do a parody of the song, kurt's only question was
It's not gonna be about food, is it?

I agree, but I think we'd need just his originals since you can mute the words and just sing your own.
3 Songs I'd Like to See:
-Young, Dumb, & Ugly
-Frank's 2000" TV
-Alba....QUIRKY!

Heard that story. I knew Kurt would like that. Al always asks the artists' permission first.

I don't want to be offensive so I'll keep it short: Just NO. What's wrong with you people? Ugh.

What's wrong with us is that we like well crafted humorous parody music.....
I vote yes!!

Selbor speaks the truth. EVERYONE songs along, even to the originals, like 'It's all about the Pentiums'.
That's a parody of It's all about the Benjamins by P Diddy I believe.
I'd definitely prefer originals to parodies, because the parodies are other peoples' songs... it'd be more fititng to get those in and just sing Al's lyrics.
Also, anyone saying White and Nerdy has failed miserably. It has NO guitar part, and the bass is done on keyboard.
The style parodies (aka originals) I'd like to see:
-I'll Sue Ya. Along with more RATM songs!
-Albuquerque. Talk about a vocal long haul. Nothing but talkies except the choruses... but there's a neat guitar solo in the middle.
I saw him live last year and it was quite the show.

I know we're staying away from parodies in this list, but I can't help but think that "It's All About The Pentiums" would be a fantastic song for Rock Band.

It's different enough from the original song, even musically, that I think it would be really worthwhile.

We should get every Weird Al version of a song we've already gotten in the game. It only makes sense.

I would have a blast with some Al tunes :)
To those that have seen him live...does he really do a straight cover of "Whole Lotta Love"?

Gah, Bedrock Anthem would be a nightmare to secure. You need to get rights from Weird Al, RHCP AND Time Warner.
