I don't care if this isn't a mature thing to do

Posting anti metal topics isn't mature either and metal needs to be stood up for

Imo any male who hates metal doesn't deserve to be called a man anymore and should be forced to wear dresses and pigtails

And yeah I know theirs heavier stuff than what I posted , for example the other videos you other people posted lol but I'm not into that stuff

I can't stand to listen to or play "Visions"! I hate that song!

breakdowns? Breakdowns are for hardcore emo bands that suck at making proper bridges in their music. Gojira is the best example of the worst.

Plus it would fun to spit up on yourself and baptize others like Travis does at times during Cattle shows. :D

A little Humanure wouldn't kill anyone! Some Mayhem tracks might but it would be worth the risk. Some black metal would be good. Emperor's Into the Infinity of Thoughts or anything off Nightside Eclipse for that matter. A little Dark Funeral or Immortal would be good.

On the death front, I would be up for some Dying Fetus and/or Nile.

Older stuff... Maybe some Dio-Sabbath or solo material. Hell, go back to Rainbow. We can always use more Sabbath of any stripe.

Ditto for Maiden. Any Maiden what so ever. A Live After Death album download would probably be my ultimate request.

K, I have no problem with broad genres. I was simply saying those were not metal. Believe me I know that Judas and Maiden are not the only metal.(though they do kick ass). My Fav type of metal is death.

Oh STFU. So if you're not into the "heavier stuff", does that make you less of a man? Who decides what is "heavy enough"? You sound like a damn fanboy.

I think there is a metal backlash starting to appear not because people don't like metal, but because there's been so much metal in the past several weeks and all metal fans can say is "durr Band Y isn't real metal, Band X is real metal", only for someone else to say the same thing when Band X is released.

For being so "manly", metalheads sound like children quite often.

A lot of people here make the reference that they like the old country and not the new...which annoys me a little being an all around fan of country...but I'm beginning to understand. I like the old metal...Zepplin (yes, they are metal, face it), Black Sabbath, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly...etc

I don't like where the genre and all it's subs have gone. It's gotten too fast, too loud and too cluttered. There are those that love it, and that's great for them...it's just not for me. I too think there has been a good amount of metal released lately, and I really don't mind since I know there are fans out there, but to call it noise is ignorant. For instance...I hate "Visions", not because it's a terrible song, it's not. Musically, it's very impressive. I've played both the Guitar and Bass lines and it's pretty obvious there is some major skill involved instrumentally, but the vocals turn me off.

One man's thrash is another mans threasure...so to speak. :)

Metal, Death Metal, Prog Metal, Goth Metal ... IMO they all sound the same. Honestly I don't understand why there are so many Metal divisions (except maybe for Glam Metal)

I have played a lot of the metal songs that are available as dlc, and all i have to sing is aaahhh or oooooh (except for judas priest & number of the beast) all the song, to get a 100% in the mic in expert.

I'm not a metal hater, but where is the fun in that? don't tell me it's in the guitar or the drums because I have heard a lot of people *****ing about how hard those songs are.

The Vox are like that in the game because HMX doesn't want you to hurt yourself. Yes, people complain about how hard the metal songs are and with good reason because they are hard to play on real instruments. I do like the examples that somebody has left for you.

I, with every molecule of being, will not acknowledge LZ or Steppenwolf as metal, I dont care how weak the classification. There really is no way I can allow that

Whether YOU acknowledge it or not doesn't change the fact that today's metal started with bands like LZ and Steppenwolf. Stating they are does not "weaken" the classification, and if you think it does, you are not a true metal fan. Live in denial all you want, but if you look at metal's history...the bands I mentioned stand at the forefront of the music you love today. That would be like me saying that Conway Twitty, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard aren't real country because it doesn't sound the same as today's country.

Is it as hard as what is out there now...no...not even close, but in their inception, they were the hardest thing out there.

We should all erase our ipods and put the Gregorian Chant on it, because that was one of the originators of all our modern music. Now show some ****ing respect for it and stop listening to that "led zepolyn" you guys listen to these days.

I think it's already been established that the OP is a dumbass who listens to metal for "br00talness" rather than the quality of metal artists' musicianship. However, I would love to see Necrophagist, Arsis, Amon Amarth, Cynic, The Absence, Behemoth, Between The Buried And Me, Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, Dark Tranquility, Meshuggah, Opeth, Psyopus, Suidakra, etc in this game.

My mistake...I was recalling bands from my youth and they popped in my head. I'm not a "genre nazi" like some seem to be. I don't care about this genre or that. If I like it, I like it and I give a damn where it fits. :)

Never, ever happen but I would love to have all of "Tara" by Absu (minus the short interludes and bagpipe intro and outro, nothing for some or all band members to do). The drumming would be insane. And "Stone Of Destiny" is THE most epic song ever. And I saw someone actually with a sig saying metal took no talent??? Fathom that Proscriptor actually plays those insane beats and fills WHILE also singing much of the time. Go try that, tell me how it goes and then tell me it takes no talent.

2 weeks of Metal recently, Rush last week, RHCP next week, a week before the 2 weeks of Metal we had The PAX Pack, before that we had Locksley, week before that we had Duran Duran and Devo, the week before that we had "Metal" again. Before that, Metal hadn't appeared for about 2 months, apart from Testament.

A lot of us like them because of the difficulty.

Also, you could "oooh" your way through any song because it's based on pitch detection.

I know Maiden isn't heavy, but those covers for Number and Run to the Hills are ****ing terrible. We also need GOOD Maiden, not that mainstream ****. Hallowed Be Thy Name and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner have got to be in thar. I creamed myself when I saw that Peace Sells... But Who's Buyin'? was in the download store, but then I raged when I found out that the song wasn't included in the album. I mean, for **** sakes, the song has the album's name! Why would you leave that out?! And please, Rock Band admin people, if you do decide to get more Maiden, use REAL Maiden versions. NOBODY can cover Maiden. Those covers were bad. Just use the normal versions.
Well, there was one Maiden cover I liked; Remember Tomorrow covered by Metallica.

I'm a sucker for adrenaline, and metal gets anyone with a soul energized and ready to kick trashbins or dive bomb on some people at a concert. For Rock Band I've got a couple of suggestions when it comes to metal for all the haters:

Protest The Hero (Possibly the Fortress Album)
The Human Abstract
Underoath
Dimmu Borgir
KoRn
Dir En Grey( From Japan but they kick ass)
Shadows Fall
Chimaira
Arch Enemy
Anthrax
Cradle of Filth
Puya (Puertorrican Metal Band, disbanded but they were awesome)
Soulfly (need I say more)

This is just on top of my head, but it's a good start I think, so if I get any more ideas, I'll be back!

It's one of my favorites. It's a blast to listen to and play for sure. Not so much the deathcore, because most of it is breakdowns which are amazing to listen to/BE at in a concert, but pretty boring to play usually. you are pretty aggressive and opinionated, which is totally your choice and freedom, but i think you'll have better luck if you relax a bit and try to approach the forums as you would any other public situation where you know you're going to be dealing with people who aren't as well-educated about music and are very likely going to have very strongly differing tastes.

i'm totally not the type to tell people that they should change their posting habits or anything, so take what i say as a mere passing suggestion.

It has to do with time and experience on several music forums for the past 3-5 years. Its hard to get out of a general attitude-habit.

I'm blunt, I don't like it, but I am.

when i first came here i honestly expected much more serious music fans. the only people i knew who played these games at the time were around my age and pretty hardcore.
now, i realize that plenty of casual fans enjoy the game and use the forums, as well as those who are simply nuts about a handful of bands and that's that, so i try to be less of a burden on them while still blabbing away about moss icon and john cage when it's called for. :)

I have a soft spot for symphonic black metal as it was my gateway into ambient black metal. It is often hit and miss but those three bands you mentioned seem to be consistently successful in creating harmonies. Rotting Christ is a bit of a strange band. Their first two albums were black metal through and through. The next 3 were symphonic black metal and the next 4 were melodic black metal. All they need is viking black and they're set.

Nile, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, Beneath The Massacre, Death, Spawn Of Possession, Decrepit Birth, Devourment, Aborted, Carcass, Decapitated, Dying Fetus, Eternal Suffering, Goratory, Mortal Decay, Skinless.

If any of the bands I listed had even just one song in this game, I would be content. Preferably Death, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse or Nile though.

Metal sucks. Get over it.

too much talent for you to handle? its ok, most people cant; however, you should at least respect the musicianship, especially with bands like dream theater, opeth, and between the buried and me.

Opeth, We need Opeth. Their songs would be very challenging and they have growling vocals as well as clean vocals, so If anybody doesn't like the growling stuff they can find out what songs are clean vocally and just buy them. Iron Maiden & Dream Theater we need more of.

Derek's time with Nile was INCREDIBLY short.

George Kollias is with Nile and has been for a while. He's a better Metal drummer now than Derek, but I think Derek is far better all-around.
