Menu Transition Texture Freezing Up

Most of the time, when you jump from menu to menu, you might notice a wave of color moves across the screen. Well, it's actually just a full-screen texture which has an effect applied to it so that it appears to be moving from one side to the other.

A few minutes ago, though, it would show up in all its low-res glory and stay up on the screen for about twenty seconds at a time before disappearing, so I reset the game and it seems to have fixed it. Just thought I'd give the devs a heads-up in case it's some kind of bug.

Ah, sorry. 360. Could just as easily mean my 360's graphics card was overheating or something, but it wasn't hot and it's just the one texture and just on this game.

Do you have a lot of DLC? I have nearly every song downloaded on my PS3 and I experience some strangeness now. The symptoms are mentioned elsewhere by other folks, but basically, the first menu skips a bit when it first loads up and scrolling through songs in the solo career is painfully slow.

How long are you playing before the behavior starts? Are you playing anything else before playing RB or is this RB2 you're talking about? Finally, how hot is not hot to you? ;)

I'm in Southern California and if I don't have my air on it can easily get up to 80 degrees in my place before I notice if I'm in the middle of RB. My PS3 just trudges along, but as soon as I realize it, I try to cool things off (I have a 60GB version that I try to baby).

Anyway, I don't have any fixes for you but I thought it might be of more use to someone else (like maybe HMX) if there's more detail for them.

Rock Band 2. Other than this one texture, there's no problems with going through menus or anything. And I can't stand the heat at all, because my room gets up to about eighty as well, so I've had my window open with an industrial fan pointing towards me and another fan towards my 360. I suppose the DLC thing could be it, because I have everything. :p
