I suggest Harmonix doesn't hold off the announcement to see how many people they can get to view the announcements forum. It breaks the forums and causes Sean to post the announcement 8 times
Not only that but so far since the new site has been launched, I have tried everyday to enter my profile/pics and mess around with my pictures (create, edit ect..) even just tried searching for some of my friends to add em on here and pages never seem to load. I'll click on something and have waited 10+ min sometimes and page still hasnt loaded. Dunno what the deal is but it really turns me away from even coming here. Whats the point in having all these neat features and not being able to do anything with them?
Strange as it's not really happening that badly to anyone but you it seems. Are you on broadband? I'd suggest you see if anything is slowing down your connection. I wouldn't say the site is super-zippy yet, but it has hardly taken me more than a minute to load any one feature...
Yes, I have a broadband connection and have no problems with any other website I visit. Except for the minor few with lots of traffic or slow servers... you know those ones but the rockband website has always been a bit slow for me just not to the point where it doesnt load pages at all.

I have been having problems too... the forums are very slow for me. I am using IE6 here at work and we have a very fast trunk line. I assumed it was because the site is still in beta...

Yeah, the website is super slow. They need to get on the stick and do some tech support. I'm really disappointed I can't use it to its full extent.
What browsers are people using that are causing this slowdown? This might help us narrow down the cause.
Thanks!

Yet at work, they wont even load on IE 6 Yep, that is the browser I have to use at work... drop down boxes don't work and it takes forever to load a forum page.

At work I use IE7 and the site loads fine.
At home I use IE6 and it freezes for 15-20 seconds while loading a post list, though usually posts and the front rockband.com/forums page is fine.
On IE6 the google and mtvnservices cookies are being automatically blocked by the browser. Cookies being blocked are a common cause for websites choking that way.

I'm on IE 6 too, (XP SP1) and I gotta say the forums are unbearably slow now since they revamped them... Yes I'm on broadband, I can get 3M/s sometimes so it's not a connectivity issue, the forum page simply soaks all my PC's process and it chokes... It just uses any remaining process % my PC can lend it and BOOM! I have to wait until my computer can take a breath before I can even scroll down the page...
And please don't say "just use FireFox then", I have no intention of switching browsers and having to use another one just for one website...
I'm not saying FireFox sucks, I'm not saying IE is better, just that it used to work fine and now it doesn't...
Plus the fact that I got around seven year's worth of bookmarks in IE lol!
"If something ain't broke..." is a great creed to live by sometimes!
Same with me.
At work and home I use IE6 and have problems with the forum pages loading real slow. But if I switch to firefox at home (can't at work) it's fine.
Also just tried firefox at home and no issues.

This exactly.
I am at work, super fast connection, using IE6.
Post list hangs every time I go back to it.
Forum worked perfect for me before it was changed.
Any plans for this issue to be addressed?
Please.
It has cut the time I enjoy the forum by 75%. Just a pain.
Thanks for all the hard work. :-)

IE 6 here, very fast connection. When I first load a forum, the browser freezes with an hour glass for about 20 seconds. (Even though the page seems to be fully loaded, but I can't click on anything) When I can finally navigate again, I click on a post and read it. Then when I hit back to find another post, it hangs for another 20 seconds, even though again the page appears to have fully loaded. There must be something at the bottom of the page that is taking time to load, but I can't scroll down to see it until it finally un-freezes. This happens both at work and at home.
IE6 painfully slow. Gotcha. I'll pass this on to the webteam for further testing.
