Stupid question? - character naming

When using the guitar controller I can't name my character with capital letters or use other characters, am I missing something? I couldn't switch over to the regular controller either.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I bought the game last night and experienced the same thing with the drums.

Maybe I'm just being anal-retentive, but it seems somewhat silly to allow people to name a character but not provide full functionality for the system that's already set up on the Xbox....

You could go and click on the button on the type pad that looks like...

You can use caps and other charcters with the guitar controller still.............

For the 360 just click on the picture in the lower left hand corner. I think it actually says "caps,LS".

For other characters.....click on the picture in the middle right.

Also, when naming your characters/bands you can use any controller.

I've got a 360; probably should've mentioned that. I'll try clicking on the picture of it, using the drum controller this evening.

I tried using an alternate controller last night, but it just thought I was trying to plug in a mike and was confused when it couldn't find one. I couldn't create a new player for my drums with a non-drum controller.

Weird. I'll post if I can't get it to work by clicking.

use the directional button on the guitar to highlight the tab that say LS (left stick) for CAPS
