______ is the new ______

There's lots of new bands around that have many similar qualities to a single older band. for me:

Tool = Pink Floyd. Their music is complex and experimentive, as well as their videos.
Coheed and Cambria = either Rush or Zeppelin. Both old bands seem to be combined into one with Coheed and Cambria. Almost every musical quality that Rush or Zeppelin has can be attributed to Zeppelin or Rush (even though they deny Rush was an influence)
Velvet Revolver = AC/DC. Just over all very simplistic music, but very fun to listen to.

When I heard Knights of Cydonia by Muse it really reminded me of Pink Floyd. I wouldnt say Muse is the Pink Floyd, but thats the closest I have come to thinking about new bands compared to old ones. Most of the old bands that have been listed are extremely unique so saying that a new band is the "new" old band doesnt really make sense.
