Was kinda bored so thought I would start a thread. I did a search but nothing came up so if this has been done before, I'm sorry. As the title says what is the worst movie or movies you've seen? The worst I have seen are Manos: The Hands of Fate and The Grapes of Wrath.

I know a lot of people say that The Grapes of Wrath is a classic but I was so bored watching this movie. I had never been so bored in my life. Well up until I saw Manos: The Hands of Fate. This movie practically put me to sleep. The acting (if you want to call it that) was so terrible. The only thing that kinda saved it was that it was on MST3k.

Man, I wanted to walk out of the theater watching the previews to this movie. That's how bad it looked. I can't stand almost all of these parody movies. I mean the 1st and 4th Scary Movies are my favorites and maybe a few others I can't remember but the rest are just trash.

I bought "Meet the Spartans" on Blu-Ray for my girlfriend because 300 was one of her favorite movies ever (don't ask me why). It was recently thrown at me.

Babes in toyland was a terrible movie starring drew barrymore and keanu reeves.

Also maximum overdrive was an awesomely bad horror movie from the mind a Steven King with AC/DC as the entire soundtrack. If you've never seen this movie, definitely check it out and prepare to be amazed;)

QFT. Now while I may have ended up liking both in the end , neither of them was the movie I went to see. Trailer swerve'd !

And now that you mention it. I will also claim my worse as Napoleon Dynamite. I don't care how many times I hear my friends tell me I have to watch it multiple times to make it funny. . . I didn't wanna finish it the first time.

Yeah all my friends told me that too. (This is like one of my roommates favorite movies) So I watched it again on Comedy Central, well about 3/4 of it, still not funny to me. Oh well.

dead and breakfast.

I once saw that movie in a video store, laughed at the title and put it down to look for Dead-Alive. I might have picked it up if I had more money, haha.

The worst I've seen is Mean Girls. I've been forced to watch it twice (long school trips in those fancy buses with the tv screens and VCRs). Come to think of it, those bus trips are how I see movies that I consider to be the worst in general (National Treasure, Accepted, etc...). Those are just movies that are bad with NO redeeming value. You can't even laugh at how bad it is like with Manos. They just make me want to rip off my legs and flog myself to death with them.

Lady in the movie wasnt of of M Night's best. I wouldn't go as far as too say there are no movies worse than it.

Meet the spartans was pretty bad, I only got maybe 10 minutes into it then left and managed to get a refund.

I started wathing Hell Ride the other night but couldnt stand it anymore after about half an hour.

Those are the only 2 films ive ever walked out on/turned off purely coz i hated them so much.

lol, well some people do love bad movies. I know that there are a couple I like. But this one was just to bad for me. Supposedly they had to dub over everything since the camera they used didn't pick up any of there lines. I can believe it with they way they sounded.

Close, Epic Movie. It was on TMN one day and I tried to sit through it, but god, it was TERRIBLE. I mean, the ONLY remotely funny part was when that Fairy or whatever tell Kal Penn that he has to go to the White Castle, and he's like "Why do I feel like I've been there before?".

Pan's was overrated, but not all that bad. But how in the hell did you fall asleep in Grave of the Fireflies? It is hands down the best animated films ever made, and quite frankly, one of the best anti war films ever made (The best is still Johnny Got His Gun).

There's a lot of bad movies out there, but the worst for me are the ones that could have been good (because of the source material or something else) but somehow really screwed up.

My personal choice for worst movie I've ever seen would be Troy. Very mediocre acting (except for Eric Bana, I'll give him that), dull and often overly posed battle scenes, a horrendous, pompous soundtrack and, worst of all, god-awful writing. I've never really forgiven this piece of trash for basically taking a dump all over a beloved work of literature.

I've been thrown out of several movies for 'commentating' (including Titanic, The Passion, and all three Lord of the Rings), but the only movie I ever walked out of was Daredevil...

and it's people like YOU that get me kicked out of theaters. I poured my drink and popcorn over some 15 year old punks that were "commentating" on a movie i hadn't seen. Worth every penny to see their smug faces in shock. Some other guy almost got his face beat in when he wouldn't shut up when asked politely, then made a joke abou tmy wife under his breath. When i stood up and he saw how big i was, he shut the hell up quick. I even got applauded when i knocked some dude's nachos all over himself when he wouldn't shut up.

I am NOT a mean guy, or even have a temper. But when my 6 year old and 8 year old comment on how rude certain people are in theaters, that's pathetic. I'll ask them nicely ONCE only. Let's just hope you don't end up in my theaters.

By far the most excruciating experience I've ever had at the cinema was Ronald Maxwell's filmic turd Gods And Generals. However, here are a few other bringers of the pain:

Henry Poole Is Here (horrible, spoon fed treacle with paper thin characters)
The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Lame Warrior (sub-SciFi channel boredom inducer)
Crash (Paul Haggis shovels heavy handed thesis on racism but fails to understand it)
The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl (Robert Rodriguez fails - in 3-D!)
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (Pinehead has casual conversations. And CD Head?)
The Crow: City of Angels (An abomination and an insult to the memory of Brandon Lee)
Fresh Horses (Molly Ringworm is damaged goods and Andrew McCarthy is boring)
Obsession (a shameless ripoff of Vertigo. There's a special place in Hell for DePalma)
Raising Cane (Brian DePalma tries ripping off Hitchcock again and goes off his meds)
Wolf (Mike Nichols tries to make a thinking man's creature feature. And zzzzz.....)
Legends of the Fall (Good looking guys looking good and fighting over a girl)
Good Will Hunting (The janitor's really a genius. Riiight. It IS your fault!)
The Black Dahlia (DePalma again - destroying one of America's most interesting stories)
Damage (Jeremy Irons bangs his son's wife. The end)
Eyes Wide Shut (Kubrick tries channeling Kieslowski. And fails spectacularly)
Saw (didn't push the envelope enough, and the twist is there just to be a twist)
The Passion of the Christ (Mel Gibson crams guilt down the audience's gullet)
Serendipity (selfish people hurting good people in their lives. Romantic, innit?)
American Pie (I drove my Chevy into the levee wall after not laughing for two hours)
Closer (excruciating Mike Nichols torture. I longed for an airplane to crash into any given scene and erase all of these dysfunctional a**wipes from the face of the Earth)

and it's people like YOU that get me kicked out of theaters.

A few things to get straight, yes?

1-I'm not some young punk. I'm 25 years old, and I go to movies with my husband and our friends.
2-The friends I go to do this with would NEVER do so in a full theatre, or even a half full theatre, OR in a movie that was in it's first run. We go to the two dollar theatre with the ripped screen, get it?
3-Relax. My post was MOSTLY a joke.

Oh man if you want to see gross you should watch the remake to The Thing. That movie is disgusting. I hate watching that movie because of it. Same with the remake to The Blob. I don't really mind gore or anything but these were just to much for me.

A classic in horrible movies. Hilariously stupid and that polar bear suit was the pinnacle of bad costumes.

Yea it's totally a classic. This is a movie I'd watch during Christmas before the A Christmas Story 24 hour marathon on TNT starts, lol. And yea that polar bear was just awful.

lol, figured I would put a clip from Manos: The Hands of Fate. Hope you enjoy a clip from what is called the worst movie ever made (yes even worse then Plan 9 from Outer Space).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jt6pP-eQUUU

Unlucky for you all this doesn't have the MST3K guys there to make it a little better.

WOW. That was excruciating. Terrible. That piano riff is going to be stuck in my head for awhile. And not a good stuck in my head, like Kiss From a Rose.

Oh, I've seen Manos and I love it for how incredibly bad it was. I'm a sucker for B, C, D and even F horror/sci fi movies.

Weird, I enjoyed Mean Girls, National Treasure, and Accepted. On a long school bus trip on the fancy bus I was once forced to watch Grease. I'm glad I had my iPod with me, and I'm glad that the Grease soundtrack wasn't on it, because that was a horrible movie.j

As for worst, Disaster Movie, by far. From the makers of Meet the Spartans. Once you see it, that shouldn't come as a surprise.

I have seen many movies, and I found it mostly unwatchable. It started to get good around an hour and a half in, but that's way to late to make up for anything.

And to the person above me, you must have only watched it once. That is a movie you will not understand after one view.

99% of the "Sci-Fi Original Movies". Most of them are stupid. A few are stupidly funny, and therefore are not the worst movies ever.

Awww...MM you're going to make me cry ;)

Sorry Mex, I've got to agree with Moongoddess on this one. While it's not the worst movie I ever saw, it's definitely up there. When Fargo was released, me and a couple friends walked through a foot and a half of snow to see "one of the best films of the year". After we got to the theater and warmed up, we were treated to an awful "comedy" set to a constant backdrop of...more snow.:( This made an already bad movie worse, considering that we still had to walk back home. I haven't watched it again since.

i like the Fast and the Furious series mostly, but yeah the second one was more or less bad, the inclusion of Tyrese was simply god awful, the story was meh and the only reason i enjoyed it at all was the garage scene with all the cars. I never understood the whole love affair with films like Hostel and Saw. I've never watched them as I have no desire to but all my friends who've seen Hostel say that the first half is simply porn and the second half is torture and overall its just crap.

That's on the surface (in the case of Hostel). But luckily all of that sex and torture means something and adds to the theme of the film. You can check out my longwinded essay on the film HERE. (http://www.wwuh.org/program/culturedogs/Reviews/Sam%20Reviews/hostel.htm)

Saw, however, is wildly overrated.

It's right up there with Eyes Wide Shut and Meet Joe Black. What really nails it to the list is it's suppose to be an Oscar winning movie.. reeeaallyy?? Although, I usually like stuff that would never even be an Oscar contender let alone win so... I guess it's just the semi-perception I had going into it from the beginning screen about it being a true story and that the names were changed out of respect for the victims and that's how it ACTUALLY happened, which I'm not buying either. (I actually knew nothing of the movie except that it won Oscars). So I guess it was a little f both. A HUGE let down but so bad that I wanted my two hours back. My friend who watched it with me is still annoyed he watched it LOL

Here's another movie that would join my list... wait for it.... get your shocked face ready...... Shrek. Well, that would be in my Worst Animated films that I've seen category. I'm one of two people on this planet I think that just didn't like it.

By the way, anyone who's still reading this, We had 2 choices of movies to watch, Fargo and Aeon Flux (non-animated version). We decided on Fargo (again, we bad) so what's everyone's opinion on Aeon Flux before I put that boy in?

So, I sit through this 3 hour movie (thank god for the beautiful scenery and yummy men) and then the vredits start to roll and in the middle of a packed theatre I stand up and scream "WTF?" and everyone in the theatre looks at me like "What?". Then I asked "Where the hell is the rest of the movie?".... Needless to say, laughter ensued through the entire theatre. I hated the first Shrek, all the more odd because I enjoyed both sequels. But that first one is written so damned poorly, and everyone lets it get away with it because it's 'a kid's movie' that makes fun of fairy tales.

Yet Pixar proved time and again that they could make animated features with solid storylines. All Shrek had was a lame Matrix gag and a shoestring plot. The 'evil' villain never does anything villainous, apart from terrorizing a gingerbread man.

I haven't seen it since its initial release, but wasn't there a bit where it's implied that Farquaad kills all of the fairy tale characters by 'removing' them from the swamp, but then they all reappear at the end? Dead or alive, where the hell did they go in the interim?

In any case, Shrek 2 was far superior and way smarter.

As for some of the other titles mentioned recently, I have to admit that Cherry 2000 and Freddy Got Fingered are guilty pleasures. But you really have to be a Tom Green fan to get anything out of the latter.

And Legend is the shiznit!

Live Action: Last Days (A semi-unofficial autobiography about Kurt Cobain. Most scenes made no sense and there were long gaps of nothing. Lots of stupid things too. Two guys begin to make out in the middle of the movie for no reason. It doesn't even add to the story!)

Animated: Most of the Dreamworks crap, but I saw Bee Movie the other day and it sucks! There is a part of the movie when the main bee tells his parents that he's going to meet a friend and the mother says, "I hope she's beeish!" Really? That's the religion joke? I don't think the discussion for "worst movie" should really include movies that are supposed to be 'bad' like cheap horror flicks, Meet The Spartans/Scary Movie etc., straight-to-DVD low-budget creations like the sequels to Cruel Intentions and The Skulls, or those movies like Gigli, Crossroads, From Justin to Kelly...

That said, does anyone else agree with me on Running With Scissors being horrible? It's made even worse by the fact that fans of the film and the books by the author will say you're ignorant if you don't see the beauty and depth of this annoying, self-indulgent disaster. Maybe it's my fault for seeing it to begin with but the trailer was really misleading (at least the trailer for Lakeview Terrace is so bad it prevents you from seeing it).

Actually, I hope none of you would know about Running With Scissors because you were smart and saw Borat instead (that's when it was in theaters). I've been in carpe diem mode ever since trying to make up for the worst-spent three hours of my life.

Running with Scissors was extremely boring. My least favorite movie has got to be The Secret Garden and Dragon Wars.
An ex-girlfriend made me go see The Secret Garden once. We broke up right after the movie. I mean, I could've seen freakin' Tombstone!
Rented Dragon Wars when I got my LCD and Blu-Ray player. I thought it would be cool. Worst movie ever!

I do. When you aim for the gutter and still miss, you deserved to get universally panned by critics and movie fans.

Good move man. Tombstone is waaaaay to awesome of a movie to be skipped over to watch The Secret Garden. In fact it's to awesome to be skipped over for any kind of movie.

Never seen Running With Scissors but if it's as bad as you say it is Rock_Band_Over then I'm not going to waste any time on it, or Borat for that matter. That movie just looked awful.

As far as the Parody movies go, there is no excuse for them to be that bad. I mean you can make a good Parody movie, that's funny and doesn't make you want to cut yourself with a dull spoon.

Last Days (A semi-unofficial autobiography about Kurt Cobain. Most scenes made no sense and there were long gaps of nothing. Lots of stupid things too. Two guys begin to make out in the middle of the movie for no reason. It doesn't even add to the story!)

"last days" was indeed one of the worst movies i've ever seen, but it doesn't even come close to the miserable "elephant".

Dude, I was just going to say "Elephant". What a steaming pile of dog turd.
