Hot damn, my foot sure is sore after hitting the bass drum. Anyone else not in drummer shape? The thing is, I can't stop playing.:D

Yup. And I was a drummer for 15 years. Uh, of course, that was 10 years ago so my chops is a little out of shape..

Make sure you've got at least 90 degrees at the backside of your right knee. if it's less than that, your calf will wear out much more quickly. I've *always* played with mine a touch above 90 degrees. It's just been more comfortable for me. So make sure whatever you're sitting on allows for you to have the proper height.

Although I also have a drum throne that I can easily adjust the height on.

As well, I've also found that it's a pretty hefty spring on that kick pedal, but if I move my foot forward about half an inch, it's not as tiring for me to use. It puts the spring more behind the ball of my foot. I also find that I have a bit more control that way too.

But, it's all about finding what works for you. That and getting the calf into shape.

Good luck and keep on poundin' those skins!
