PS3 issue- Can't switch to Bass

I'm having a really annoying issue with my guitar controller and Rock Band. When I created by first guitarist in Solo Tour, it asked me if I wanted Bass or Guitar. I selected guitar. Now, I'm trying to create a Bassist for the Solo Tour but it won't give me the option to select guitar or bass. Everytime I create a new Rocker, it defaults to Guitar. Anyone have the same issue, or possibly a remedy!

There is no Bassist career mode...stated long ago.
