Don't know much about Science book...
Don't know much about the French I took...

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question. I thought we were singing Sam Cooke's "Wonderful World".

Am I missing something, or is Amsterdam no longer in the game?

We Euros don't usually bother with the south/north divide, by the way.

My division would be:

Moscow, Istanbul: Eastern.
Everything else: Western.

HMX said they wouldn't give in to the Dutch's demand for Within Temptation and Anouk. As a result, Amsterdam was removed.

To be honest, I'd say HMX is right about that. If I hear anyone over here demanding Anouk, I'll personally set fire to their clothing.

WT is alright, though.

A DLC request for K's Choice might have gotten you Belgian chocolates instead... but no, you had to be all rebellious. Tisk. :D

at my work here, general rule of thumb, Germany and anything to the left is western, while Poland and anything right is eastern.

or, as i once defined it to a co-worker.........think of the country, and if it stirs any thoughts of communism, Warsaw Pact nation, big military, nukes blow us all away, red, vodka, woman who are hairier then you and can crush your skull with thier thighs and/or boobs and have arms bigger then your thights, borsch, Soviet controlled/influenced, then 98% of the time it is going to be considered Eastern Europe

I guess, at one point, you could have considered (East)Berlin as part of Eastern Europe, but that hasn't been the case for a while. What I found strange is that I got the Eastern Europe achievement after I played in Rome.

If this is the in-game division, it's dead wrong. Stockholm is in no way 'eastern Europe'.

The eastern/western Europe thing is not so much a geographical as a political/economical divide. Grumpypariah was right earlier in the thread, we pretty much consider all of Scandinavia (including Finland) part of western Europe, whereas eastern Europe are all the ex-communist countries (Poland and further east).

If you were to ask random Stockholm natives if they were from eastern or western Europe, I can pretty much guarantee you that all of them will answer 'western'.

Finland isn't really even European in that sense though, they're more Asian (hell Finnish is similar to Turkish)

Stockholm I could see either way, it is very very close to Denmark, but Sweden itself to me is more of an Eastern country, but thats just me

Despite the fact that the Finns don't speak an Indo-European language (and, just to nitpick, it's actually similar to Hungarian, not Turkish. Finnish is an Ugric language, whereas Turkish is a Turkic language) , they very much consider themselves part of Europe. That fact that they're the only Scandinavian country to have adopted the Euro as a currency is a clear sign of that.

Although I see where you're coming from geographically speaking (although I'd sooner user the 'northern Europe' moniker then), culturally speaking Sweden is very much a western European country, and that's what the east/west divide usually boils down to.

Weird - I still have Amsterdam. It's not in alpha order tho - maybe they be using Amsterdamish? :)
