I am just curious as to who has tried the World Tour Mode and tried playing the guitar or bass while singing. I bought the bundle, but it is socked away as a present for the whole family. I sing while playing guitar and/or bass in a real band, and was wondering how it translated into Rock Band. Yes, it does make things a little more difficult to do both at the same time in real life, but it can be done. I would like to sometimes be able to do the World Tour without having to call up a friend or when the rest of the family is busy.

This is totally how I play the game, it is pretty awesome but you have to be familiar with the vocals for each song.

Now drums and vocals... that there is the big challenge. I can do it for a few songs but not all.

I haven't tried it with the foot pedal, but I wowed the Best Buy midnight crowd with a 95% drums (Hard) and 93% vocals (Medium) together on In Bloom. No one wanted to sing, and the BB employee held the mic for me :)

Maybe the guy who's forced to sit our when we play can sing a duet with the other singer because it's impossible to play with 4 people on the PS3. Or maybe they can strum the other guys guitar, or work the foot peddle.

Sweet!
In real life I play bass and vocals on Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult, play rythym and Vocals on Land Down Under by Men at Work, and Lead and vocals on Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits, so I was hoping it would work well in this game. Drums....no way...at least not yet. I can't keep a straight beat on a real kit, so there is no way I could play drums and sing at the same time. As much as I don't like Phil Collins, I have to give him props for doing that in concert. :D

By the way...playing a real guitar is sooo much easier for me than getting the timing in this game, but then again I have been playing guitar for 17 years...I gotta say that there is a lot less stress in this game if you screw up your solo. There's nothing like botching the solo to Another Brick in the Wall in a bar full of people....

I noticed that. Luckily playing vocals on Easy, I can get away with just mumbling, and trying to come close, but if anybody were around to be hearing this, they'd turn the game off on me.

So I take it you don't have to play the "tamberine" notes? I am wanting to sing and play the guitar but thought I'd fail since I can't tap the mic. I haven't tried yet. I'm going to complete the solo mode first. I want to at least learn the songs I don't already know.

I have, like Sean said, as long as you know the vocals you're fine.

A friend brought his xbox over and I got through a few songs on expert vocals and expert drums and 5-starred, but neither songs were too tough on vocals or drums.

I used to sing in a band I played drums in, so that's probably how I'm gonna BWT by myself. :P

I was able to get through a few sets on medium/medium, even a few songs I don't know so well. Its definitely a fun challenge but my guitar really suffers, hopefully I can change that over time.

Singing is a part of the game i didn't really think i was going to get into. However i gave it a shot on easy and guitar on medium to start off with and had a blast. It's pretty easy actually for the songs you know the words to. It's just a matter of learning the lyrics for the songs you don't know. Man this is a great game. Blows GH3 out of the water.
